We were passing through and a bit hungry, so we stopped in. Were curious about how the outdoor seating worked and were met by the waitress and seated (btw, the red seats are for Pflasterschisser.
The menu had some selections we hadn't seen before so we tried them and we were very, very happy. We started with the knoblauch-chili-champignons (garlic-chili-mushrooms), oh man, let me tell you ... they were amazing!!! The mushrooms were cooked with the garlic and chili and in a creme sauce. The combo does not seem like it should work, but it really does and the chili's give the sauce and mushrooms a delicious tang, that made this worth the stop all by themselves. My wife said the side salad was really good, with a great mix of vegetables and the a great light dressing (which the waitress told us the recipe was a secret and my wife agrees that it should be (except for her!!!))
Next we both chose a schnitzel, my wife getting the cheese-mushrooms crusted, which was simply fabulous! I had a bite and the cheese, mushrooms, and extras they added made this one of the best schnitzels I've ever had. I had the simpler egg and bacon schnitzel, a simpler dish, but still very good.
We both were pretty full, but knew we had to try the desert menu and we were not disappointed. We shared an apple streudel with cream and ice cream and as with everything else we had, it was a unique and delicious dish.
So as I started off... if you are in the area, stop by. If you are not in the area, what are you waiting for, this food is worth the drive!!!
