Dilston Mill is a darling of a place set in the most beautiful surroundings I have ever seen. My family and I have just spent a lovely weekend here staying in the Private Suite. Myself and my brother and sister took my dad here for his birthday and the accommodation suited us perfectly. Susan has created a very warm and welcoming place that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. Am already trying to think of an excuse so I can go back!

Good quality accommodation, in a beautiful area in a former mill by a river. Good for local walks or runs and only 2 miles from Hexham. Very attentive host,Susan, could not have been more helpful with excellent full breakfast at a time convenient for early or late starts. This was a business trip which was a welcome change from the usual chain hotels. I will return to explore this beautiful area at leisure. No TV but excellent wifi and very useful kitchenette. Regular visits from the biscuit fairy and refills of various beverages during my 4 day stay. Highly recommended.

We booked for a short stay after seeing the website (looked most attractive) and we weren't disappointed. A delightful and peaceful setting, top class accommodation, and a helpful host who recommended two super restaurants in the area. We would certainly stay here again, and have no hesitation in recommending to others.

We really enjoyed our two nights at Dilston Mill. Susan is lovely. She provided excellent breakfasts which were healthy as well as delicious. The kitchenette area was really useful and we had a selection of teas and posh coffee to choose from! The mill grounds are stunning.
We enjoyed visiting Hexham Gaol, Hadrian's Wall and Kielder Water from here.
I would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed 2 nights in the Private Room while at a family wedding, and were well looked after by Susan, our attentive host. She booked us in at a local restaurant (Il Piccolo) in Corbridge, where the food was excellent. It was just a short walk of about 20 minutes, but there is a large car park for visitors to the town just before the bridge. The bed was comfy, shower really spacious; all the rooms overlooked the river including the little kitchen which was well-equipped with a fridge and everything we needed for breakfast or just cups of tea and coffee, and a communal place to sit and chat with family who joined us for the second night. The garden was a true delight, good for taking a few photos before we left for the wedding, and a lovely place to sit. We would have loved to stay longer, but will just have to come back another time.

Room Tip: Private Room is a 2-4 person suite upstairs from which there are views of the river and garden.

Dilston Mill is an absolutely stunning property! We chose to stay at this property because of the favourable comments on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. We're from Melbourne, Australia and we stayed 6 nights at Diston Mill while exploring Hadrian’s Wall and Hexham/Corbridge area. Susan is a marvellous hostess; she ensured our stay was enjoyable and in fact she added to the truly great experience we had in Corbridge, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, her local knowledge was invaluable. The little extra touches; like a different gourmet chocolate bar each morning, fresh fruit & juice daily and luxury toiletries, all made our stay just that little bit more special. While the property is not right in the centre of town it does have plenty of on site parking and it’s an easy 15 min or so walk or 2 min drive into Corbridge. With free parking just on the outskirts of town (near the Tyne bridge) it’s really convenient to drive into town if you need to. The accommodation was extremely clean, modern and spacious - which was important to us. With our own separate entrance we could come and go as we pleased, so we felt like we had our ‘own’ space and weren't disturbing anyone else. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was also spacious. A real bonus for us was the kitchenette which had a toaster, kettle, small refrigerator and bench space! which meant we could make and store food for our day walks or make ourselves snacks any time we liked without being cramped for space. The cooked breakfast set us up for the day and there was plenty of variety of local fresh foodstuff from which to choose. The gardens were also a delight - so peaceful with the brook running right past the well manicured gardens of the property. There were plenty of little peaceful retreats in the garden which we were free to use when we liked. This was our second trip to Corbridge and when we return there is no need to look for anywhere else to stay – we’ll definitely stay at Dilston Mill again. Thank you Susan for a most enjoyable stay.

We stayed 2 nights while viewing Hadrian's Wall. Susan was full of info re Corbridge and restaurants nearby. We were able to walk in to Corbridge on the first evening to eat (15 mins)The kitchen was well equipped and breakfast had everything you would want. We didn't choose a cooked breakfast but it's there if you want it. The gardens by the side of the mill stream are lovely - we wish the weather had been better so we could have sat outside. The bathroom was fine and there was plentiful hot water and a good shower. Rooms were a little hot when heating was full on and opening the windows was a little tricky, but all was sorted pretty easily. The carpets in the room and bathroom were made of sea grass (we think) and a trifle uncomfortable underfoot. Susan provided slippers which solved that issue! After I stupidly dropped my smartphone in the loo, Susan provided sufficient rice to dry the phone out and it works fine now!
