Four days here was just what we needed! Such a tranquil spot beside Devil's Water, Dilston Mill was a perfect place to start our hiking days. From here we had lovely walks into Corbridge, Hexham and Aydon Castle. Susan provided a wealth of local information and took care of us well! Every day there was some special touch. If we come to walk Hadrian's Wall Path again, we will surely stay with her again! Thanks, Susan!

Gorgeous two day stay for a wedding the first weekend of July.

Stunning location by a river, beautifully and sensitively converted. Hugely helpful and accessible host (but never over bearing).

Absolutly immaculately presented and full of gorgeous little details - torch by the bed, home made jams, DIY brekkie if you don't want to have to be up too early (works v well)

Highly recommended, well worth the 13 hour round trip to get there.

A quick cab ride to Corbridge with nice pub the Wheatsheaf

Thanks Susan for a lovely stay! So good I almost want to keep it to myself!

The Studio at Dilston is beautifully equipped and the DIY breakfast, with cooked breakfast delivered by Sue if required, sounds odd but works really well. 5 minutes by car, or 20 mins riverside walking from Corbridge where there are lots of restaurants. Or try the Dyvells pub, great pub grub and good beer. Vallum restaurant 15 mins drive but worth it. Dilston Mill's garden, overlooking Devil's Water, is a delight and Sue is a fund of information which she will very happily share.

We booked the Studio at Dilston Mill for Easter weekend. To be honest, it was because we couldn't find a pub locally with a spare room. But we were delighted with the room and the beautiful setting. We spent a day in Newcastle and a day exploring and walking around Hadrian's Wall. The owner was extremely helpful and helped us get booked on the concert-goers coach back from the Sage to Corbridge. We sampled the Help Yourself and the cooked breakfasts. Both were excellent and we liked the independence compared with a more conventional B&B. The only criticism we had was that it was a bit pricey for a B&B. Don't be put off because it's isolated - there are pubs and restaurants in Corbridge and if it's fine you can walk there in 20 minutes, or drive in 5. A lovely spot, and we may return!

Gorgeous place. Wonderful gardens and river surrounding the mill.
Mill accomodation itself was of a high standard. Breakfast excellent.
We were going to a wedding nearby and didnt know this part of the country that well so good choice all round as area was also very beautiful.
Sleep quality we put as very good and not excellent due to a slightly noisy fridge in same room in the downstairs studio. That may just be me being a light sleeper
Otherwise all excellent. Not sure if near to river is that child friendly but thats probably obvious so ask!

I booked for two nights in the studio at Dilston Mill for my boyfriend's 40th birthday in May after searching for the perfect getaway - and we weren't disappointed! We were immediately struck by the beautiful building and its location on the banks of the river - had we been luckier with the weather, it would have been a wonderful spot to sit with a book and a cuppa.

Susan gave us a lovely warm welcome and showed us around. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean, and the bathroom was gorgeous with an amazing shower!
We were really impressed by Susan's attention to detail - the amount of choice for breakfast was brilliant, with the added bonus of having a delicious cooked breakfast delivered to our room at a time of our choosing. We found the location to be ideal for our plans - close to the historical sites of the area and a pleasant walk into Corbridge for dinner.

We are fairly regular travellers and found both the accommodation and host to be right up there with the very best of our experiences. What really made the weekend for us was Susan herself - it's rare to strike up such an instant rapport with a stranger, but we left feeling we'd made a new friend and will definitely be back to stay again. Thank you for an such a fantastic weekend Susan - we think you're amazing!

My wife and I were looking for a nice location to stay, as we were planning to visit the Famous
Cragside house. The Owner could not have been more helpful, prior to arrival rang to check
on any needs and she Kindly arranged flowers for my wife as it was our Anniversary.
The accommodation is very flexible as you have an independent entrance and can come or go as you please. The room is spacious and comfortable having a large separate shower room.
There is a small kitchen area with a fridge stocked with orange juice, milk, etc, fresh jams and marmalade all supplied within your price. you can either do your own breakfast, all supplied or a fantastic cooked breakfast brought to your room every morning at a time to suit you.
Out side there is a lovely small garden bordered by the mills original river source,
" Just Stunning"
Wether you are Hikers Bikers or Drivers it is a great place to base your self.
Just go a visit you will not be disappointed.
