The restaurant is flanked by its intimate Stuzzico wine and tapas bar on the left and an airy delicatessen and ice cream parlour on the right. “Dissapointing Lunch visit to what looked a good Restaurant”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

The place is a wonderful well laid out Café/ restaurant. Ordered drinks and food. Bread came prior to meal arriving it was stale and dry. We ordered 2 Pizza's and a lasagne. The Pizzas were both over cooked and were very difficult to cut. Topping was minimal. The worst Pizza's I have seen served in any Italian Restaurant worldwide. At £10.50 I expected the Pizza's to be of a very high standard. My Lasagne however was superb a lovely dish hot and well seasoned. What was the main cause of my low score to this establishment. At no time were we asked if the meal was OK. On paying I was still not asked if the meal was enjoyable. The waiter took the money and just acknowledged the transaction. It was sad to think that we were just given the Lunch and then ignored till asking for the bill.

“Best Italian in the Northumberland.”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

If you're looking for an authentic Italian, look no further. Real family feel about the restaurant and some exceptional dishes available. A tremendous reminder that Italian cuisine goes beyond Peperoni Pizza and Carbonara which may be the expectations of more critical reviewers here. In comparison to other restaurants in Corbridge, it stands head and shoulders above.

“Nice restaurant”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

Had a v good meal here whilst on holiday in July 14. Food was great as was the service. I had the sardines in a white wine garlic sauce to start which was excellent & a tuna steak for main which was as good. Fantastic cheesecake to finish. I would recommend a visit.

On holiday to beautiful Northumbria, had fabulous weather , amazing walks and fantastic food . Our last meal in corbridge at il piccolo was a fitting end to a wonderful week . The beef carpaccio so tasty and the sardines were to die for . Lamb chops with scrummy gravy..I could waffle on all evening about the gorgeous food !! Staff were genuinely friendly and nice . You won't be disappointed

“Just gets better!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

This restaurant has always been a huge favourite of mine, sadly I do not go here enough. This was the first time I have visited the restaurant since it has been enlarged to include a lovely cafe bar for pre drinks. What never changes is the warm welcome you receive. The food quality is excellent and owes a lot to the Italian Chef/Owner and his ability to conjure up new dishes which are always available along with the offerings on the al a carte menu. The restaurant has a strong support from locals living in the Corbridge area and this must be a great testimony to the restaurant
