Wilmar Bed & Breakfast

The location of this B and B is perfect, on the shores of the picturesque Loch Harport with Glen Brittle and the fairy pools just 20 mins drive up the road and right in the awe inspiring shadow of the Cuillin Mountains. Also, the Talisker Distillery is just 2 mins walk down the road.

Upon arrival we were welcomed by some hens, who would go on to provide our eggs for breakfast, and Marcella, who was most friendly and treated us to tea and home made cakes almost as soon as we had settled in to our room.

Marcella had great local knowledge and was quick to provide us with hints and tips to make the most out of our time on the Island.

The home was beautifully decorated and oozed with the atmosphere of the highlands, local art and photography featuring all the great views of the highlands and Isle of Skye.

The lounge was equipped with guide books and maps for visitors to plan their days whilst the sound of soft Gaelic music played in the background.

The room it's self (the Edinburgh room) was en suite and extremely comfortable. Again the décor was highlighted with subtle touches including shells and pebbles, from the shores of Loch Harport and other suggestions of the surrounding landscape outside the windows.

Breakfast was extremely generous with a choice of cereals and fresh fruit or porridge served with blueberries and a full Scottish breakfast.

We stayed for two nights and upon our return on our second day from a long hike around the Quiraing, we were greeted by yet more freshly home made cake! Which was MOST welcome!

You wont find a better B&B in the Highlands or anywhere for that matter! Highly recommended.

This is a gem of a B&B, excellent in all respects with two very comfortable and well-decorated bedrooms, a lovely sitting room (shared with the other visitors), and a homely feel accentuated by the chickens wandering around the gardens overlooking the loch.

What makes it so special is Ian and Marcella's discreet attention to ensuring that your stay is as enjoyable as it should be, and they do this very well indeed. There's lots of books and brochures in the sitting room but Marcella was also willing to suggest an itinerary to meet our needs and schedule. Breakfasts were outstanding, and the Old Inn down the road is very handy for an evening meal or to sample the local beers.

There is a TV in the room, wireless internet, and parking opposite the house. Book now.

This is a great location for the Cuillins, Fairy Pools, Talisker Beach and other gems of Skye. The Old Inn is a 5 minute walk for food and live music. Talisker Distillery is also an easy walk. And of course Ian and Marcella continue to supply the hospitality and quality accommodation that make Wilmar a true 5 star stay.

Everyone has said such a lot about what a wonderful b&b Wilmar is that I am not sure I can add anything much except to endorse the other comments! It's just brilliant and everything about our stay was perfect. We loved the breakfasts, the homemade breads and jams especially. What brilliant attention to detail. Thanks so much Marcella and Ian.

A lovely small B&B with two rooms, we had the ensuite and view of the loch. Warm and helpful hosts, with great recommendations for walks and local attractions. Also lots of information in the rooms, relevant literature, maps, books, brochures etc Great breakfast with homemade bread, jams and marmalade.
Good location, easy walk to good local pub with good food and music on Fridays, a little local shop and the Talisker distillery just a 5 min walk away...

This is a late review but I stayed at Wilmar B&B with my boyfriend for 2 nights in July and it was absolutely fantastic! This was our first visit to Skye and I wish it was for longer. We were lucky to have glorious weather and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Ian and Marcella make you feel so welcome. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable and the food is delicious - awesome choice for breakfast too :) The location is great as well and it is so near the Old Inn pub which I would also recommend. I can't fault this place in any way and would highly recommend - I know i'll be back at some point!
