Booked through Secret Escapes for 2 nights bed and breakfast, inc dinner on 1st night and bottle of wine in our room £358.
Stayed in the main Cameron house. When arrived they had val at parking and concierge looked after the parking and took our luggage to the room.
We were in room 63, which had great views over the loch and of the sea plane. Lovely comfortable room inc. bathroom with heated floor. Ate in the Cameron Grill from the al la carte menu instead of the set menu. We were allocated £25 each towards this. I had smoked salmon assiete, which was Devine. Hubby had red wine poached pear with goats cheese & gingerbread truffle, also lovely. Then mains we went for the chateaubriand with hand cut chips, both delicious had peppercorn sauce on side which was a little watery, but overall lovely food. Service good.
On the Saturday morning used the gym and pool facilities which were good. The steam room and jacuzzi was lovely. Then we went to the golf and spa which is 2 miles away in the Carrick. Consiage shuttle you to/from here. We had lunch in the claret jug, which was also very good. We
Ate in the Boathouse on the Saturday, lots of choice on the menu. We both had green curry one with salmon and prawn one with vegetable, both tasty. Lovely lodges around the grounds. Nice walks around the estate. Sea plane rides around the loch, if the weather is ok. It rained the weekend we were there so didn't get to do much outside.
Would definitely return but in the spring or summer.

Room Tip: Our room was 63 good view over the loch and sea plane landing

I have returned today from an overnight stay at Cameron House. Myself and five friends purchased a voucher at the end of 2013 from "It Is On" and could not wait for some rest and relaxation. First impressions were good, our room was nice. However such a catalogue of errors later unfolded. Our rooms were not together as we had requested, the spa treatments were poor and did not last the time stated on the treatment guide. One friend had such a intense massage that her back is badly bruised. The shuttle bus which is advertised as running every 15mins or at guest request left us waiting for over 45 mins at the Carrick Spa which meant we were late to the Boathouse for our eveining meal. Our evening meal was super and our waiter Aaron really did a fantastic job of trying to make us feel looked after. Unfortunetly later that evening two members of our party became ill after eating prawns. This had to be formally reported under H&S reporting measures. The Carrick Spa was nice from a distance however it badly needs some TLC, the paint is falling down from the ceilings and there is eveidence of damp in many of the rooms. The changing rooms were not stocked with robes and towels and we had to request these items. Finally, today we ordered lunch in the Claret Jug and had to wait over 45mins for some soup and sandwiches... As a group we were so excited and looking forward to our stay at a 5* hotel. However we are all so disapointed and feel we have been cheated of not only our money but also our annual leave which we had all taken to enjoy a relaxing break. Overall the experience was poor and staff did not address our concerns when raised.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding which was also at Cameron House.

Great location, when they say it's on the shores of Loch Lomond, that's exactly right. The main entrance of the hotel is about 50 yards from Loch Lomond.

Breakfast was excellent with a choice of continental, full cooked or select from the a la carte choices.

Our only complaint was that the lift was out of action quite a bit whilst we were there. We didn't need to use it but other friends who were also attending the wedding, did but couldn't. An elderly lady had to get out of her wheel chair & spend considerable time & effort using the stairs.

Cameron House Hotel is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location and provides a bit of luxury at a reasonable price provided you can get a good offer. The check in was very quick and efficient and the loch view room was very nice, if not the biggest room you have ever seen, but with a view to die for and all mod cons, only thing missing was a clock that would have been helpful. We visited the bar on a few occasions and although it looks very nice the service was the worst we have experienced in any devere hotel in which we have stayed, but this would appear to be a lack of training. We waited on average between 15 and 30 mins to be served our drinks, when we pointed this out to a young man in a jacket and tie (who appeared to be the bar manager)he just shrugged his shoulders and offered no apology which would suggest it is the norm, there were a few more examples but it's gives you an idea. We ate in both the Cameron Grill and the Boathouse and really enjoyed both places but the jumbo prawn cocktail in the boathouse was a real disappointment with 8 small prawns and a bit of sauce for £9. The staff in the hotel are really friendly and it is such a shame that a lack of training let them down which the management should address and help keep this hotel up with the best of them

Had a lunch in the Boathouse on 8/2/14 for a special birthday
Calamari was like elastic bands
Mussels average. Wine £8 a glass but good. Cameron lager just like Tennants lager. Haddock & chips good
Service needs a bit attention then they added 10% service charge
The Loch Fine seafood was apparently discontinued but still featured on the website - a bit deceptive
Won't be back :(
Living too much off their location

We have just returned from this magnificent hotel we have stayed in the past and so decided to invite friends along with us . We have not been disappointed it delivered everything first class well done to all involved in making this a memorable place to stay . All of the staff are very polite courteous and above all so welcoming and friendly . Please keep this up it is so nice to turn up to a place and receive good old fashioned service with a modern twist x thanks once again .

Room Tip: We stayed in room 33 ground floor with loch view was quiet and easy to get to

We stayed for one night last weekend. Our room was lovely although 2 single beds pushed together which I slid down the gap between them in the night! we had drinks in the Great Scott Bar which was lovely. As with a lot of other reviewers, the service id desperately slow but staff were friendly. Drinks typical hotel prices. We ate in the Cameron Grill which was really good and again good service. Breakfast had a big choice and was really good too. All in all a good stay, we'd go back. Only thing I could complain about is the hotel wasn't that warm. Our room was fine but the bar especially was cold.
