“Unbelievably beautiful- the pictures do not do it justice”
Reviewed 9 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Myself and my partner stayed at number 4 Lomond Castle for a weekend break, the pictures do not do this place justice.
The views from the windows and incredible, and the accommodation itself is contemporary, classy and wonderful. The flat itself is cosy, and very homely.
It is very close to some nice little pubs and places to eat.
I would definitely like to stay here again!!

“A dream of apartment”

Booked weekend away as birthday treat for husband.
The accommodation and standard of furnishings were excellent. Views of Loch Lomond in the snow were amazing. After a cold day out it was wonderful to return to the apartment and its underfloor heating. There was no shortage of crockery/cutlery/glasses .Dishwasher and washer also available if required
Met the owner who had travelled some distance to provide key and heat the property for our arrival. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk also provided which was most welcome after a 4 hour drive.
Loads of information provided to help you plan your break and suggestion given on local restaurants.
Will certainly visit again when I can arrange some warmer weather. Thank you Gerard.

“Excellent Location!”
Reviewed 1 August 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Probably one of the best located self-service apartments in Loch Lomond! From the back garden one can enjoy uninterrupted views of the lake. There is also a small passageway that can lead you directly to the shoreline! The property has modern luxurious amenities and is very well kept.

Our only complaint was that when we arrived we found out that the washing machine was out of service. We were not even advised of this before we arrived. We phoned up the owner and were offered no plausible solution apart from being told that the closest laundry is in Helensburgh! Considering we were on a 2 week honeymoon trip this was a major blow to our plans as we had already planned to wash all the dirty clothes once we arrive at the apartment.

However, this property is recommended to all those who want to enjoy breathtaking views in a tranquil and peaceful setting.

“Lovely apartment in ideal location when attending wedding at the Cruin”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Stayed here for two nights when attending wedding at The Cruin. The apartment is a 5 minute walk to The Cruin. The view from the apartment is beautiful and there are step from the garden to the loch front with a small jetty.

The apartment itself was modern, comfortable and clean. Would stay again and would recommend.

“Luxury apartment offering breathtaking views!”
Reviewed 15 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a five night stay here in the last week of June 2013, as part of our two year wedding anniversary celebration.

The booking process was very straightforward through the Lomond Castle website. The owner, Gerald, was always reachable by phone and email and replied to all our queries in a timely manner.

The apartment was spotless and furnished to a very high standard throughout. The kitchen was well stocked with all the required cutlery, crockery, pots and pans.

The apartment’s high ceilings gave it a very up-scale feel. The large patio doors and windows provided breathtaking views of the loch and surrounding Munros. The natural light and air pouring into the apartment during the day created an airy and cheerful ambiance.

The quiet loch shore was only a few steps down from the apartment’s patio, with access exclusive to those staying at Lomond Castle. The castle’s grounds were very picturesque, with rabbits rambling across the well maintained lawn, metres from the patio. The castle’s front, with its stone walls, large archway entrance and heavy wooden door gave it a grand feel as you entered!

There are a range of activities and “days out” within driving distance from Lomond Castle. A loch cruise can be organised from Luss Pier, seven miles away. It is also worth attempting the Ben Lomond climb from Rowardennan car park; views from the top are simply stunning! A less strenuous option, with equally splendid views, would be an hour long scenic drive up the Duke’s Pass (A821) to Loch Achray.

We did our shopping at a large Morrison’s in Dumbarton, 15min drive from the apartment. Gerald also kindly left us brochures and menus of nearby restaurants and takeaways.

Reading though the reviews and flicking through the website’s photos beforehand, we had very high expectations of Lomond Castle (Room 4); these expectations were most definitely met. We are already planning to revisit this winter!

“Beautiful setting and accommodation”

My husband and I booked a weekend stay here after having our baby and loved every minute of it.

Both the setting and the building are beautiful, even the doors into the building are striking.

On entering the apartment the first impression is the high standard of oak finishings and decoration throughout.

Both the living room and bedroom have gorgeous big windows that overlook the Loch, it was lovely to sit and watch the boats and seaplanes go past.

There is free Wi-Fi and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need - cooker, microwave, fridge, small freezer box, washing machine, pots pans etc. The bed is super king size and without doubt, the comfiest bed I have ever slept in! The shower is also great with an overhead and body spray. The whole place was spotlessly clean.

The closest town is Balloch we walked along the cycle path and it took us about 20/25 minutes. There was a restaurant/bar closer (about 10 minute walk along the loch front) called Duck Bay Lodge, the food and cocktails were lovely.

I have already recommended this to people and some of my family have since stayed. It really is a beautiful apartment in a beautiful setting and reasonably priced, I would highly recommend it for a relaxing break.
