Put your holiday euros where your mouth is :) After being disappointed last year by not being able to extend my stay I booked this trip well in advance. I was concerned that of the 3 hotels I'm staying at, here or en route i've given all very good reviews - but then isn't it the point of this site, that you shouln't stay at bad hotels again? The Alpenhof is excellent and the welcome very friendly. I'd forgotten a rucksack and walking poles but the hotel lent these free (saved me about £35 to buy). I'm paying about £58 (63euro) a night but having booked for 10 nights I get 1 night of those free! This is also the full board price and the food is very good good hot and cold breakfast, hot lunch or salad and 3 course evening meal plus as much side salad as you want. If you're out during the day you can make up a pack lunch at breakfast and the hotel provide a bag and wrapping. If you don't want lunch let them know and they knock 3euros off the bill. Breakfast is 8 - 10, pretty civilised. Since my last trip they have built a large wellness centre downstairs. This compliments a big indoor pool, gym and table tennis. There is a steam room and 2 or 3 saunas, it was open everyday 4 - 6;30 but can be booked later for more private use. I've included some pics to give an idea - sorry for the mess!! P.S German pillows are very soft you may wish to bring one of your own.

I found this hotel through a holiday appartment site I had used before. I was visiting the area for about 2 weeks and booked the hotel for 5 days, I have been disapointed in the past and the last thing I wanted was to be stuck with a bad hotel for my whole holiday - what a mistake! I had the best time here with clean well appointed rooms, free parking, cheap wi-fi (€5 for the whole stay), excellent food, a top class fitness room, pool and sauna. The staff spoke english and at about €57 for half board it was a real bargain. I tried in vain to book for longer but it was fully booked mainly with people who come year after year. I will book for next year early
