We stayed at the Pension Heidi for 3 nights in early September 2013. Dave, the propietor, and his family provided excellent hospitality. Along with great recommendations on restaurants, glass factories, and landmarks, they went above and beyond to show us around Zwiesel. Since we have ancestoral roots in Zwiesel, we had some special interests and Dave gave us lots of ideas. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was a nice variety of choices. On my day of departure, Dave also ensured that breakfast was available at an early hour and loaded my car in the rain! I highly recommend the Pension Heidi for a comfortable stay in the Bayerwald.

A friendly British run pension to the west of the Bahnhof. Good for exploring this part of the Bavarian Forest, with the local guest card including local transport. Accommodation is typical for a German pension of this price, and the owners are keen to provide useful advice about what to see and do in the area.

We booked this B&B on the morning we were due to arrive for one night and ended up staying 3!! The area around Zwiesel is amazing with lots of nature parks and trekking and wonderful landscapes, but what made our stay extra special was without doubt the owner Dave and his son Alex. They went over and beyond the call of duty in welcoming us and giving us advice on where to go each day, what to see and where to eat! The b&b is comfortable and very reasonably priced - breakfast more than adequate and very homely as Dave sat with us each morning over coffee and helped with all our questions and plans. This is a very relaxed, homely and well positioned B&B.

We greatly enjoyed our time at Pension Heidi. The family owning the hotel was incredibly friendly and helpful, giving some great advise about places to go during our stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and our room had a balcony with a really spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast served in the morning was very filling and had enough variety to keep most anyone happy. Pension Heidi was a great location in which to explore the rest of the Bavarian forest, and the ownership is just wonderful.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony, well worth the few extra euros

A wonderful traditional German hotel in up and coming Zwiezel. We went in October half term and had a great time, the rooms are clean, beds comfy and have huge bathrooms with showers, we had a balcony with spectacular views The new English owners are full of local information and advised us on days out, walks, local attractions and places to eat. The breakfasts were meats, cheeses, a lovely selection of breads, jams, yoghurt, boiled eggs, cereals, tea, coffee and juices plenty to set you up for the day ahead. The free local bus and train ticket was great, we left our car at the hotel and used this to get around, bus 1 min from front door, train station 10 mins walk. The hotel is a perfect base for walking, photographers, cyclists and in the winter skiers, as there is a ski centre across the road. A great family run business, we will be back to sample the skiing in the winter.

Pension Heidi is under new English ownership this year, 2011, and we stayed in Sept and had a great time. There is garage parking for motorcycles with drying facilities for wet motorcycle gear and the advice we got from the owners led to us parking the bike for 4 days and using the excellent bus/train services. The bus stop is across the road and It is only a 10 min walk to the railway station. Our host gave us plenty of help to find things to do in the area including the National parks. There are good places to eat at good prices within walking distance. We are thinking of returning in winter as there is cross country skiing available just across the road. One of the better places we have stayed in.

Nice pension. Large rooms with views. Hourly bus service from across the road. Good access to the station via taxi. Excellent Sauna. Family run buisness under new ownership. Also has an attached cottage for rent, which is really nice.
