“Never Going Back”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

The air condition timer was acting crazy the whole time, a report was made to the front desk but nothing was done about it. Our sleep was interrupted because it got so warm and someone had to turn it back on every time. The food was terrible and it was always cold. I ordered food on 20/4/14 at 11.30am and we expected it at 12.30pm. My food arrived cold and dry and I requested for it to be warmed up for me, after waiting for another 20mins, the food was brought back with the plate being very hot but the food(fish) not enjoying any heat at all. I rejected it and went to Cape Coast to look for lunch. There was no water for more than 5hrs and no one bothered to tell the guests anything. We finally got water which was brown and only God knows where they got it from. I had a terrible experience and I am never going back.

Room Tip: please for the love of God, reject room 49 by all means.

We just spent a week at this quiet resort and we are happy we did. The rooms (we got a "standard hut") are amazing -- large, solid, clean, well-constructed, tiled, cool, secure, consistent water and electricity. The environment, a coconut palm grove, is beautiful and provides a cool, tropical atmosphere. The food in the restaurant is mostly excellent. The serving and cleaning staff are all excellent. The beach is amazing. The tides come and go creating smooth surfaced sand and very creative waves. Nice breezes throughout the day. There very few rocks apart from the huge boulders further down the beach by the fishing village.

The place is not perfect. There are things the owners should be able to make better, and other things that may be out of their control, including:
- the beach is deepening over time, taking with it the coconut trees and causing challenges for the Resort -- the restaurant was not operating from the large veranda that is shown on the photo for most of the time we were there due to the encroaching sea.
- we were made to understand that the communities in the area dump their garbage in the ocean so that garbage finds its way onto the beaches and is everywhere in the water....a real downer!
- we heard from some long serving staff that they are not treated as fairly as they could be;
- Reception staff need to be inspired to treat guests with welcome and helpfulness;

Costs are reasonable. It's easy to get a taxi bus at the end of the land back to Accra -- $93 cheaper than chartering a taxi!

Room Tip: Encourage the serving staff....they are great and may not be treated as fairly as one might wish.

This resort is close to Cape Coast, but very laid back and quiet. A very nice resort on a beautiful stretch of beach, a very natural feel with sand and palm trees. Accommodation is in widely spaced single or twin cabins, generously sized with nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. The restaurant/lounge is on the upper level right on the beach, so lots of beautiful views while you drink or dine. Food was very good and if a little slow arriving, there is still that view to while away the time.

The beach has a shallow slope and is partly protected by a reef so the swimming is safe. There are a couple of fishing villages nearby so a short walk allows you to watch as the fishermen haul their boats and nets ashore.

They should supply a broom in each cabin to help keep the sand you will inevitably track in under control. Good wi-fi available in the lobby and restaurant areas only.

A really nice spot to spend a few days while you explore the Cape Coast & Elmina area of Ghana.

Room Tip: The cabin compounds are all fenced with palm fronds, so there are no views from the cabins.

Nature at its best!!!

I have been there already a couple of times just for lunch.....
It is a nice place for a photo shoot.....
The Sea and the breeze and the coconuts all are 100% natural.
I loved this place. The food is nice although no new item in the menu. It takes not so long 30-45min sometimes more (the trick is never to get there hungry) and is a nice place to chat and relax with friends.
Water and other items from outside are not allowed ....
The waiting people are nice but not really friendly (you might not want to forget something of yours on the table, even for 20 seconds)
It is roughly 2hours drive from Accra but you might not regret driving that far for a 3 day stay....

In sum, I am willing to try the place for my honeymoon next month.......

Room Tip: Never get there on an empty stomach for you will have to

This resort is on the beach, west of Cape Coast. It was our relaxing time at the end 3 week trip. We all loved the rooms, the food, the view, the beach (its beauty, fun & shells). I highly recommend & think it would be a pleasurable spot for anyone to spend days relaxing & soaking up sun. There were plenty of chairs near the water, the food was very very good (tailored for both English/North American & Ghana tastes at dinner.

Other things to consider:
1. When our big group (15 meals) ordered dinner for a particular time, they were were able to have it ready around when we asked. Prices for a meal ranged from 12-35 cedis for (low) hamburger or chicken skewers to (high) small lobster/snapper. Everyone was pleased & wel fed.
2. The breakfast buffet was all you could want: juices, coffee, tea, baked beans, "sausage" (they use this name for hot dogs in Ghana), eggs/omelette prepared when you ask, toast, porridge, fresh cut fruit
3. The wifi in the lobby and restaurant was really not worth trying. Better option: get a mobile wifi modem. We paid 55 cedis for 5GB in May 2013 & had awesome 2G or 3G all over Ghana. It worked quite well on the resort.
4. The waves were reasonable in size, so fun but not terribly dangerous. The 8yr old in the group had plenty of fun in the waves within 10ft of shore.
5. There were lots of staff people, as befits a resort. A downpour started shortly after we arrived and some of us got "trapped" by the changing rooms. A couple staff noticed this & came to rescue us with umbrellas so that we could sit in the restaurant while we waited.
6. There were not a ton of amenities for a resort: the 2 boogie boards were already snapped in half (still worked, since they were covered ones.) The main lodge was nice (felt like a US national park lodge), but as far as I can tell that was about all the "resort" parts. The beach changing rooms and showers, though, were a big help for washing off the first layer of sand.
7. The bathroom in my room was great. It had its own water heater, so plenty of hot water. The shower was very nice. It had the shower head style favored by Americans (fixed mount) vs. European (hand-held sprayer), mounted very high on the wall, great for tall folk.
8. Rooms included their own little broom for cleaning up your sand (they did a nice job cleaning the room, but it was easy to keep tracking in sand all day). It also had a walking stick & umbrella to use, which was helpful for the rainy day visit we made to the national park.

Room Tip: We spent a couple days at the beach resort (group of 16, including 4 children), occupying all the be...

The resort is right beside a fishing village, which is a bonus because we were pleasantly amused by watching almost daily as the whole village took part in fishing and hauling the catch home. The beach is lovely because I could actually get into the water without being swept away. It's a nice long beach to walk on also. The rooms are very nice although there was a bit of water and power problems, which is to be expected in Ghana. Unfortunately, there is sand everywhere and it is hard to keep from tracking it into the room. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean and has good food with a buffet breakfast on weekends when it is busiest. Breakfast comes with the room. Of all the beach places I stayed in Ghana this was the best for a reasonable price.

Don't think I've ever been anywhere so beautiful in my life. The beach absolutely takes your breath away with an amazing breeze that not only takes the edge off the heat but gets you super tanned as well! Only stayed here for two nights as part of a trip I was doing but could have definitely stayed for longer.
The rooms are clean, (cleaner everyday to get the sand out!) spacious and air conditioned, slept extremely well here!
Good running waterand electricity (if you've ever stayed in Ghana you'll know why I include this as a perk!!)
Staff were all friendly and happy to help.
Food was delicious an pretty well priced, 14.00 cedi for a cheese burger and chips (around £5) and it was probably the best burger in the world.
Cannot get enough of this place.
A short taxi ride into the town (about 20 cedi each way (£7ish)) where there are a few shops and some market stoools to buy souvenirs, get your bartering skills good before you go and you can get some real bargains.
The only downside is that apparently (according to someone else on my trip) if you go a long way along the beach you end up in a village type settlment where it is common practice to deficate all over the beach, however, I walked all the way to the rocks (you'll know what I mean if you go) and saw nothing, but just thought that ought to be shared. A little ways in the other direction another member of my team was almost mugged, so I would suggest it is best to stay always within view of the resort, and this does not mean you are confined in any way there are still plenty of places to walk. Don't let this put you off, the resort has security and there are always staff members around. I believe the section of the beach surrounding the resort is private and only for resort guests so no danger of intrusion. Also, there are no paved paths to rooms just sand, so if you have a wheely suitcase, be prepared to carry it to your room!

Room Tip: There are some rooms that are RIGHT on the beach front so you can see the sea out of your window, ho...
