“Lovely break”
Reviewed 28 May 2013 via mobile

We stayed here in November 2012 the lodge was clean and modern and very large the staff were pleasant and very helpful. It's a bit expensive to stay in peak season but reasonable out of season we took my year old granddaughter and my 84 year old dad we all had a lovely break in a nice area

We stayed in one of the allington lodges for a long weekend. The lodges were clean and well equipped. Even washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and bin liners were provided. The bedrooms were quite small and only one had a wardrobe although there was plenty other storage options. We had 4 adults and 2 young children in the party and there was plenty of room for everyone. The decking area was enclosed. The furniture on the decking was very comfortable and of course the hot tub was excellent. No BBQ facilities but we had taken a disposable as we had enquired about it already and was told as that was fine as long as no damage was done to decking or grass etc. The decking area backed onto the woods and therefore felt quite private.
There was plenty to do, the kids enjoyed the large play area and trampoline. The pool although quite small was warm and not that busy. The roads around the park were great for the kids to go on the scooters/ bikes.
Even though we didn't have great weather it did not spoil the weekend. It was also the Harley Davison rally whilst we were there and it was great fun watching all the Harley's lined up ready for their ride out to Skegness.

We stayed for a long weekend at Bainland (friday to monday) in one of the new lodges with a hot tub booked through Hoseasons. Four of us sharing (2 couples) had a ensuite shower room each and a large hot tub on the veranda. The lodge was brand new and the space between each unit was excellent, so it felt very private. We walked round the local area so didn't spend much time on the park during the day, but at night it was very quiet and peaceful.

I decided to take my two young grandchildren on a short break. I wanted somewhere where there was a swimming pool and room for them to ride their bikes safely. I found Bainland on the internet and booked through Hoseasons. We hired a cabin with a hot tub for four days knowing it would be quiet. And it really was quiet. Not a lot going on, it suited us, but older children would have been bored stupid. Turned out this was the first week of the season so there were no activities, fine for us and they did let us know about this before we arrived. So glad we took the boys bikes as it was expensive to hire them there. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The swimming pool is small and one depth, about 1.5 mtrs. It is also very warm. My grand children use armbands, there was no way they cold have stood up in there, but obviously we were fine, it was okay for swimming. In busier times you have to book it, but being quiet we didn't. You get a timetable when you sign in. The changing rooms were only just adequate and could do with some sprucing up, as could the play area. The club house was nice, and the staff friendly and helpful. We didn't buy food there but the menu looked okay with average prices. Our cabin was at the back of the site, overlooking the woods which was lovely, and the rest of the grounds were very well landscaped. Luckily we also had good weather for the time of year so we had good use of the hot tub which was on our veranda. A member of staff came to check it every day as well. Having read some other reviews we were a little concerned about Bainland, but I would say it was okay for a short break. Not sure I would like it in high season though, the boys enjoyed so maybe I would go again in the quiet season as it 's only just under two hours away from home for us.

Room Tip: Try to get one of the Arlington lodges overlooking the woods, on a nice warm evening a glass of wine...

We stayed at Bainland in a lodge over a long weekend and we'd say that it was alright.

Yes the children play area could do with a spruce up, but there was a activities on, and some evening entertainment. The bar/restaurant was OK.

The lodge was clean and well appointed.

The pitch and putt course was great for sharpening up your short game.

Handily placed for the Lincolnshire coast and Lincoln city.

Woodhall Spa was a lovely little village with some nice shops.

We would go again.

We chose Bainland because of its location, handy for the coast and Lincoln city which is a great place to visit. We stayed in The Roughton Lodge and it was spot on; clean, modern and spacious with the added benefit of being lovely and quiet on an evening. We never bothered with the pool or activities but who cares? We had a lovely chilled out time. One minor gripe........Ants. Bit of a nusiance but don't let it put you off.

Just got back from a 4 night stay in an Allington Lodge , having read the reviews before we went have to admit was a little concerned, there are good and bad points to this park as follows:
Bad Points
Lack of wardrobe space, only one double wardrobe for 6 people
Not so good for older children, better suited to younger family or adults
VERY small pool, not quite how it read when booking, didn't even bother to go in
Meals and drinks were expensive in the entertainment area/bistro, £1.90 for a Hot Chocolate or Coffee, £3.00 for a milkshake , and mains upwards from £8.00, so didn't bother eating in , luckily had arranged a Tesco delivery of food for when we got there and ate out
No evening entertainment as such, 2 nights of bingo and an Xbox competition for the kids (we went in the second week of Easter holidays)
No Signal for telephone/WIFI unless you go up to reception/bar area-no signal in accomodation
Not much to do nearby, went to Skegness most days 40 mins drive
We did notice a Budgens in Woodhall Spa, but didn't use it
2 of our party did complain about their mattresses being uncomfortable.

GOOD POINTS

Our lodge was very clean and looked very new, everything you need (Note of caution for anyone over 5ft3", watch you head on the cooker hood which 2 of our party managed to collide with numerous times, too low and glass so easy not to see)
The Hot tub was lovely, checked twice a day .
It is a very quiet park, lovely , with a big play area for the children including a zip wire, sunken trampoline, mini diggers, undercover tennis, archery, Pool Tables, Tables Tennis and Table Football (Small Arcade Center which we didn't use), a 9 hole Par 3 Golf Course and Crazy Golf
We went with a 16yr old and an 11yr old, but if you were to go with children 8years and under the park is ideally suited and also had activities in the day for the smaller children
We found the staff very helpful at reception
