“Peace and quiet”
Reviewed 1 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Just had 3 lovely nights away in 'The Hayloft' but felt we had been away for a month! So relaxing and the accommodation is absolute bliss. All the little extras of the veg hamper and the wonderful food on the first night, could not ask for anything else. Lincoln is a wonderful City and lots to look at. Hopefully will return.

“Jams, Stain Glass, Crochet and Willow Weaving”
Reviewed 9 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Well the great experience of the bread making course got me back to manor house farm for lots more craft classes. Over a number of weeks I've done all of the above and it's been better than going to a spa. In stain glass making we made two hearts in different glasses having learnt the basics of cutting and soldering using copper foil. Crochet: you learn the basics for making a granny square. Having knitted for years wanted to try my hand at this. Willow weaving is so relaxing. I made a chicken (see photo), others had ducks and peacocks which were wonderful. I love my "Wiki" the hen, she was hand made and is too good for the garden and now sits in the conservatory.

Jam making, well what a great time we all had being Harry Potters for the day. Experimenting with fruits, alcohol and flavourings and finally after years getting a jam to set. Took home 6 jars of unique jam, an armfull of recipes and just made my first small batch of Plum and Star Anise YUM. Now want to redo my Gooseberry, whitecurrant and lavander, and then may mix something with pink peppercorns ....

Included in all days are a lovely welcome with plum bread, teas and coffees and a delicious lunch. Sherry is always on hand either to teach or provide us with the welcome and support. I'm chuffed to bits with what I have learnt this year. Having never been good at art or crafts at school I feel I can make things myself now at home. Went sometimes with a group of friends, other times on my own, always had a good laugh and met a lovely bunch of people.

“Jam making - pure jubiliation”
Reviewed 29 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

I booked a place on this jam making course for me and my mum - our birthday treats to each other. What a fabulous day! After an introduction to demonstrate how simple jam making can be, Elaine then handed over the reigns to us to choose our fruit and our flavourings (even including chocolate!) then effortlessly came up with recipes to combine them together! We each ended up with at least 5 pots of different flavoured jam to take home. A great venue, a great tutor, a great group of people and a delicious lunch. Thank you.

“Really cosy”
Reviewed 18 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

I travelled here for the weekend with my husband and 3 year old daughter, staying in the Hayloft.

It really is a lovely conversion, very homely and the additional treats of sausages, chocolates and wine (amongst others) was very welcoming.

It was very roomy and we gave my daughter the main bedroom and we slept in the "cubby hole bed", which was surprisingly comfortable.

Don't rely on having open all hours shops around you (I did an 8 mile round trip for a tin of beans! - more fool me), just properly plan your food shopping when you are there. The one shop in the village shuts before its suggested time.

We visited Lincoln and Woodhall Spa when we were there and they were both lovely. The close by RAF Waddington air show was on during our weekend, which we didn't go to, but whilst in Woodhall Spa there were lots of old planes flying around. My husbands highlight of the weekend was a Lancaster bomber and 2 Spitfires flying past together, which sounded amazing.

Loved the enormous copper bath, which is warmer than it looks.

I'm happy to recommend this little spot for a visit.

A warm friendly welcome from Sherry awaited us on arrival at the hayloft with good tips on where to eat and what to see. Beautiful hayloft with many welcome treats-many from the owners vegetable garden or local organic produce, fresh homemade bread, wine, chocolates and much more. Beautifully converted and environmentally friendly hayloft with lovely comfy sofas and chairs, woodburning stove and amazing bathroom with jacuzzi bath, super shower and sauna complete with lots of organic toiletries. Local pub recommended by Sherry provided a lovely meal. All in all a fabulous place

“What a treat!”
Reviewed 18 May 2012 for a stay in May 2012

The pictures do not do this place justice. It went miles beyond what we expected. Sherry really has thought of everything. We went for a well deserved rest and got far more. We made so many plans before we arrived, once we arrived we didnt want to spend a single night away from this place. We spent most of our evenings in the amazing copper bath, lighting the fire and cuddled up in the snug - with wine of course.

We were made to feel more than welcome.

We never holiday in this county - Sandals Antigua was our last destination - Manor House Stables was truly amazing and we will go back for sure

xx
