“Fantastic accommodation with lovely personal touches.”
Reviewed 11 March 2009 for a stay in February 2009

We stayed twice in the Manor House Stables in rural Lincolnshire during February whilst we were house-hunting up there. We stumbled across their website whilst we were looking for somewhere to stay and were so glad that we did!

This place is an absolutely divine place to stay, either for a weekend romantic retreat or for a week whilst exploring the area. We stayed in the upstairs apartment, the 'Hayloft', which has an a separate bedroom with an en-suite, and an additional 'snug bed' in the lounge, suitable for another two guests. I think the sofa in the lounge was also a sofa bed so you could squeeze in six people (good friends!) at a push.

What we loved so much about this place is the obvious care and attention to detail given to by the owners Sherry and Irven. It has been beautifully converted with no expenses spared and there are so many personal touches. We were not wanting for anything during our stays here - the kitchen is fully equipped and on arrival you are welcomed by a lovely welcome hamper with all organic local food and vegetables. The hamper was easily enough to keep you going for a couple of days in the highly likely event that you wouldn't want to leave!

The lounge is cosy, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom..... well, again, attention to detail is exemplary. It has a lovely big copper jacuzzi (just big enough for two!), and a combined steam shower/one-person sauna too. On the bathroom ceiling are twinkling coloured lights like you get in some saunas. In fact it was so cosy and romantic that I proposed to my girlfriend there over a nice glass of wine on our first night!

I can't recommend this place enough! If we hadn't found our perfect place to live in Lincolnshire we would definitely be going back for more. As it is we will just have to visit our friends there when they come up to stay!
