We booked the hayloft through the website of The Manor Stables. We loved the idea of the service they provided. To be sure I emailed the owner before we arrived if coffee and thee would be available like it said on the website. She confirmed we only had to bring ourselves. She would welcome us when we arrive and make a meal for our first night. A few days before we arrived we received an email she wasn't at home the day we arrived (we booked months ahead) and we were told where to find the key. She also wasn't able to cook the meal we booked.
As we arrived we did like the look of the hayloft, cozy like on the photos. Alas dust was everywhere, as it was cold we wanted to put the heating on but that didn't work so we had to call an emergency number to help us out. The husband stopped by after work to explain how the heating worked. He also told us the shower didn't work properly and that it was the fault of the cleaner (no check of what the cleaner does) that there was no coffee or thee available. we had to rush to the shop. The bed was also way too small for 2 adults, I had to sleep in the other bed as there was no room enough for my husband and myself. On top of it all, we received another email of the owner that she wouldn't be able to say goodbye! So no welcome and no goodbye.. the service is not what they said it would be. Even though of all these down parts we did have a lovely stay, as it was a cozy place!
Really enjoyed my stay with my parents. I stayed in the bed under the stairs which was surprisingly comfy despite being tall!
The bath and shower was wonderful. A real treat. We struggled with the cooker a little as we've never used a range before but got the hang of it eventually! But we ate out for most meals anyway.
The cupboards were packed which was useful but meant there wasn't much space for things we'd brought. There could be an empty cupboard in the kitchen to make room for any food bought for cooking there.
It was mostly really clean but a little dusty around light fittings and round the toilet hard to reach bits. Only reason for 4 and not 5 stars was this and the storage.
last minute booking, first time visit. We booked this last minute with the most accommodating owner Sherry, our visit was warm and welcoming. Sherry has catered for everything, accommodation was of good quality furniture, clean and inviting. The food hampers and extra touches of wine, flowers and chocolates were most appreciated. The surroundings were peaceful and tranquil which is exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries. Nothing seemed to much trouble for Sherry and Irven. A lovely couple with a charming holiday let. Would definitely recommend.
Have been here three times and all three visits were excellent. The Hayloft is superb accommodation. So comfortable and welcoming. It is a truly unique place to stay. Spotlessly clean with the very best of everything provided. Lots of lovely thoughtful touches and a brilliant welcome pack. I highly recommend the Hayloft.
An extremely private, quality self catering apartment. Like living in 'Country Living Magazine'. Lincoln is well worth a visit. Wear hiking boots! A very comfortable, satisfying stay. Very special and unique. Thank you Sherry.
Myself and a few girlfriends recently stayed at The Manor House Stables in Lincolnshire.
The whole experience was brilliant, just what we all needed. The accommodation was perfect and so cosy and great for a quiet weekend away. We were welcomed with a delicious warm meal and a hamper of fresh fruit and vegetables. We particularly enjoyed the log burner and the jacuzzi bath. We also enjoyed the surrounding quite countryside where we went for long walks.
I would highly recommend the Manor House Stables, particularly this time of year for a cosy tranquil retreat. Thank you for such a wonderful stay and great hospitality.
My third visit to the Hayloft, and Sherry still runs a very special and unique establishment. The attention to detail, and the thought which has gone into providing everything a guest may need, are second to none. This is an excellent base for exploring Lincolnshire. As ever, a trip to the Kinema in the Woods is a real must, and all the local military history is very interesting. I love everything about this place and will continue to visit. I highly recommend for a comfortable, special and good value break in the area. If you have a spare day, you can also do one of the courses on offer!
