We had a short break at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The overall atmosphere was friendly and the staff could not do enough to ensure we had a good time. The rooms were well furnished and comfortable and the bathroom had a power shower. The breakfast (choice of full English or Continental) was plentiful and delicious and I was pleased to note that the fried eggs were "runny". We did not use the spa but the prices seemed very reasonable. We intend to return at a later date.

We stayed for a couple of nights between Christmas and New year, and as is usual for our stays here we loved it. Our room was warm and comfy; food was excellent, and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. We really like this hotel, and we'll be back again. And again.....

We have just returned from visiting elderly relatives near Woodhall Spa. This was done at last minute and this hotel could accommodate our needs of 3 rooms on the ground floor as my mother uses a wheelchair. I did read the reviews and was not sure how we would find the hotel.

Although, I would agree that the outside needs money spent on it, where we stayed all rooms had been renovated and the bar, dining area and reception had been newly renovated. The bar was tastfully furnished in a modern style with a large screen TV. Outside of the bar is a cosy area where you can sit by the woodburn fire and chat and relax.

We dined in the first evening; the service was efficient and the food was superbly presented and tasted good. I asked for a tia maria coffee and the waitress obliged and went to the trouble of having it made. The set menu was very reasonably priced for the standard of food.

As we stayed between Christmas and New Years Eve it was quiet and sadly there was only one other table that was occupied.

At breakfast the selection was not as varied as it could be. However, Jane was very friendly and helpful. Mrs. Patel, the owner was very hospitable and caring towards my elderly mother. It was the little touches that made our stay pleasant, such as I left a room door open and Jane got a member of staff to go and close it so we could continue to enjoy our breakfast.

The rooms were very clean, comfortable bed, warm and welcoming. I hope more people will not take notice of the negative remarks because they are untrue. Furthermore, perhaps the moaners are the ones who chose to have a reduced fee for a room being renovated, not a fully refurbished room as we experienced.

The hotel is set in a lovely prime location to all amenities in the village and when we come back to the area we would not hesitate to stay here.

Debbie Quinn.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 - 3 were in a quiet area.

not quit sure where to start with this review. the hotel from the outside looks nice from the street but as you get closer you quickly realise its been left and neglected. the decor inside matches that of a Indian restaurant and with a huge TV in the bar and large U shape sofa, you will see what i mean.

they have clearly started with some redevelopment in reception but left the corridors and rooms alone. the main corridors to rooms had signs saying under refurbishment which i took as a smoke screen for being ignored as nothing really seemed in the process of being done.

we were pleased to get out of there and certainly didn't want to eat there at night.

breakfast was shockingly bad too and i wouldn't rush back.

sorry!

Recently visited, with my mother. All the staff were fantastic and a great help. The food was excellent, top quality. The only thing which let it down was the hotel was under refurbishment when we visited and the finishing touches were not complete. But once the hotel is completed, it will be second to none!!

The room was very smelly and for the bathroom I don't even have words...They gave me probably the worst room they were having available, plus it was on second floor with no elevator!
The service very bad and not professional at all! Very rude lady trying to control the business...what a joke! Really, avoid!!!

Room Tip: Choose another place!
