Thank you for reviewing your visit. It was wonderful to welcome you to The Petwood for the outdoor theatre production of Sherlock Holmes whilst also enjoying the 617 Squadron history of the hotel as Officers' Mess in WWII.

I do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you to the hotel again in the future.

With thanks and best wishes

4 of us stayed here as part of a golf package at Woodhall Spa Golf Club.
The service from arrival to departure was excellent with all staff being extremely friendly.
We had dinner in the restaurant and all 4 of us thought both the starters and main courses were fantastic. Again, the service here was superb - nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend this hotel.

Been coming here since I was young for family occasions & am never left feeling disappointed. The service is exceptional with staff going out of their way to do whatever they can to help. The surroundings are beautiful and well kept. The restaurant always serves high quality food which is nicely presented.

We live locally to this establishment and we would love for it to thrive BUT

It is a bit tired, it does need some investment to take it to the next level but it has huge potential. This time we had bar food on the terrace. My fish cake was brilliant, my wife's cheese ploughman's was basic. My beer was cloudy despite me asking for a replacement twice !

Come on folks, you have one of the best locations possible, step up to the plate and blow the competition away.

I have wanted to visit the Petwood for Many years but for various reasons this was my first chance.
From arrival to departure the hotel and staff did not disappoint, all the staff I met were very efficient and keen to help in any way they could. I ate in the restaurant as I had heard from others that the food was good, unfortunately that was an understatement, it was excellent. There was no rush to get you away from the table which made the meal an enjoyable experience.
I had a single room which had as much room as some doubles in other hotels, everything was very clean and the bed comfortable.
The extensive grounds are a pleasure to walk around in the morning before breakfast. Apologies to the rabbits for disturbing their morning constitutional.
I particularly enjoyed perusing the items connected with the Dambusters and the other RAF Squadrons that used the Petwood as an officers mess during the war.
I would definitely go back to the Petwood in the future.

Room Tip: I would suggest you contact the hotel before you go and see what room hey can offer to suit your nee...

We booked this hotel last minute and were blown away by the appearance of the building as we pulled into the drive. We can see why so many people get married here! The room was a standard double, comfortable and clean. We ate in the bar to save money (the restaurant was much dearer), and the food was of a really high quality. Would definitely recommend for a romantic getaway. One thing to watch out for - when you book you will be offered a price without a dinner allowance and another price including an allowance towards your evening meal. We opted for the latter, but when we realised how much the food was in the restaurant we decided to eat in the bar instead. We didn't use all of our allowance and anticipated that this would be refunded when we checked out. It wasn't. We queried this as it hadn't been explained to us when we checked in, and in the end we got our refund. Perhaps it was our fault for not understanding how the allowance worked, but the receptionist was a bit snotty about it. Apart from this minor incident, we cannot fault the hotel and would definitely return.

Thank you for your review. It is great to hear that you enjoyed your stay including a meal in the Terrace Bar.

I am sorry that our dinner allowance was not explained clearly during the booking process but I thank you for raising this in your feedback so that it can be addressed with the Reservations team to avoid this confusion in the future. Please also accept my apologies if you felt the manner in which the Reception team member addressed your query on check out could have been better, a matter which will also be addressed through training.

Thank you again for taking the time to review your experience at the Petwood. I am so pleased that you would consider a return visit and I hope to welcome you again soon.

With best wishes

We stayed here with friends on a three night short break. The hotel is set in extensive grounds and certainly has the wow factor. The connection with the Dambuster squadron and interesting memorabilia proved to be a bonus. Our room overlooked the gardens and was spacious, clean and pleasant. Staff were friendly, helpful and quick to sort out any problems. We ate in the hotel every evening and the food was excellent, although the menu was not extensive and perhaps it would have been nice to have a "special of the day". Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and served without delay. We would certainly stay here again if visiting the area.
