We went to Woodhall Spa for the 40s weekend and were looking for somewhere to eat. We were moored on the river at Kirkstead Bridge and on a recommendation went for dinner at the Inn rather than having dinner in Woodhall itself. We were a group of 6 and we returned the following morning for breakfast as a group of 8 and I have to say we were made very welcome and the food was very pleasant. The full English breakfast was a real treat and an experience which is likely to be repeated.

We went to this pub a couple of times on a weekend visit to Woodhall Spa. On our first visit we used the restaurant and found the food to be excellent. We ordered the swordfish which was of generous proportions and delicious as was the rest of the meal. On the Sunday evening we arrived back at the Railway after a long bike ride along the Water Railway to Lincoln and back. The Sunday roast and meals had finished for the day but Barry the owner kindly fixed us up with some generously filled beef baguettes with all the trimmings. We found the pub to be very friendly with a nice atmosphere and great real ale. Barry is a great host and goes the extra mile to make your visit a cut above the rest. Highly recommended.

Stumbled across this inn while staying in the area. Wanting food, we called in on spec just before 5:00pm and were the only customers. The landlord gave us a friendly welcome, told us that food was available so we settled in to the bar. At the opposite end to us was a pool table and a TV with Wimbledon on so our kids were happy, although none of this intruded. The landlord took our orders and was generally very attentive.

The food was served at what I would call a leisurely pace, but none of us were in a hurry. Several locals called in and sat at the bar, and we got chatting with a couple and were welcomed in a similarly friendly manner.

We all enjoyed our food, which was hot and the portions generous. Stuffed as I was, I couldn't resist the landlord's pitch for the bread and butter pudding (a favourite of mine) when he told me that it was his mother's recipe - so I shared a portion with my mother-in-law. It was excellent!

There is a separate restaurant, but we were more than happy in the bar, with its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

A traditional friendly local pub with a lot going for it. We would certainly recommend it, and will visit it again when next in the area.

No idea what the food is like as I only dropped in for a beer but boy was it a good beer! This landlord knows how to keep good ale.
The noises from the punters that had ate was all good too, so I will try and be back to try it out.
Seems like the landlord only took over in March so I wish him well and keep up the good ale.

Pulled up unexpectedly at The Railway, whilst visiting the area. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the landlord Barry who made us feel very welcome. We ordered our drinks and food and were very happy with the quality and portion size of the food that was served to us. We then ordered desserts that were presented beautifully and were delicious and were more than happy with the bill for the food and drinks we received. We will definitely be back again. I strongly recommend this bar/restaurant. Kind regards Stewart and Lorraine
