Recommend the mushroom roll , the Guava salad ( it tasted a bit like green apple salad).
Several nice ice cream choices.
Decor is pleasantly local.

Really? The #1 restaurant in Sibu? I beg to differ. The food was nothing to shout about. The environment is good but the mosquitoes are unbearable! And the price was a lot a lot higher than most places here in sibu, and the portion was only enough for probably a kid.

The only consolation was the salad, but other dishes were so common.

Came with a friend here and ordered a fish and chicken dish which tasted like it was cooked with instant paste bought from the supermarket. To charge rm 16 for it was outrageous to say the least. The mushroom roll was decent, wanted to try their salad but was told it was not available. I really do not recommend this place at all. This is also probably the worst comment I have given to any place sad to say

Sibu isn't renown for its great restaurants and it is not so easy to find a good place to eat, but Payung Cafe is certainly a place that should not be missed. The owner has definitely made an effort with the decor, more than can be said for most places in town, and the house speciality the Payung salad is wonderful.

i really dont understand why this place is getting recommendations & i gt cheated by those reviews.everyone has a diff taste,im aware of that.i just think tht this place is overprice w the bland taste of food.i ordered a chicken masala, and it tasted like chicken kurma.i guess even if i had thrown the chickens to any stray dogs they wont even eat it.their red meat taste worst than any street food i can get in india.its just not worth your money.i rather go to place like cafe cafe or ark cafe. any kopitiam is better than this place.
