“Exotic Local Produce”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

This is the place to visit when you are in Sibu. Walk along the isles & look around at the exotic local produce on display. You can find wild bee honey, sago worms, durians, dabai (local olives), local ferns & various forms of exotic vegetables & fruits!

This place is generally very safe. Be wary of pickpockets when the crowd gets too big.

“Must Visit ”
Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

I was there on Sunday, very crowded and many on street stalls. I went there for breakfast , you can continue budget shopping on the same floor. After that we continue to nearby shops and streets, we found local made "gong pia" bread shop, many local made biscuits and "mee sua" selling here. Must try local foods whenever you visit Sibu. I love Sibu Central Market and streets shopping, i really enjoyed bargaining with them. Worth to Visit.

“Feel the local lifestyle in one place”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

This is a very big local market. It sells almost everything including food fresh meat, fruits and greens including clothing. It is like today's modern mall that has everything. The interesting part of this market is that you get a feel of the different ethnic groups all in one place interacting through the different languages. So you do get a lot of different sounds, smell and taste. Besides that, the river that goes into the heartland of Sarawak just flows behind the market. And close by there is a very huge Chinese temple. This is also a good place to do street photography. So, if you are interested in the culture and people of Sarawak, this is a good place to venture around it's myriad stalls selling local trinkets and touristy items besides those that I mentioned above.
