Villa Polllo is a lovely apartment near the beach in Meta. The owner Albert is very helpful and friendly. This is a great introduction to Southern Italy. We would wake up, wall to Amalfie coast then wander down the road for some fresh seafood.

Stayed with two others for 5 nights at the Villa Pollio, had a really nice room with own bathroom and kitchen. Provided with breakfast basket and a good bottle of wine thanks to Albert, the really friendly and helpful owner. Not far (40 mins on the Cirumvesuviana) from Naples and only 10 minutes from Sorrento. Ideally pop down to the beach which is really quiet around there, or go over to Capri from Sorrento - the highlight of our trip. No stress whatsoever at the Villa Pollio, the perfect place to unwind after exploring the local area.

The room was quite spacious and air-conditioned, with a small balcony facing the garden. The bathroom and shower was really small but functional with plenty of towels and a hair-drier. Breakfast consisted of a basket full of packaged biscuit-type food. There is a small kitchenette area with a fridge stocked with mineral water, milk, butter and fruit juices. Plates and other cutlery are available should you wish to buy your own stuff to cook there. All in all, a fair place to stay which is 5 minutes walk to the train station (the train to sorrento is 1.80 euros) , with local restaurants, a small supermarket 50 metres away, a bus stop opposite the entrance that goes to sorrento, a post office and an atm machine next door. A TIP FOR DIRECTIONS: Turn right out of Meta station and then take the pedestrian subway which is about 10 metres from the station, and this place is about 30 metres away on your left, next to the post office sign, by the road. The owner's son speaks excellent english and the family were very helpful to us. We liked it here.

A warm and gracious welcome to an aesthetically pleasing room, decorated in sumptuous shades of coral with touches of gold. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We appreciated the generous provision of towels as well as a little washing line with pegs over our balcony. A silver bowl of sweet cherries and ripe loquats placed in our room, and the generous gift of a bottle of local wine made us feel so welcome. This is a quiet haven overlooking a peaceful garden, a respite from the frenetic energy of tourist-infested Sorento and Capri. The little kitchen has a gas hob and small refrigerator, and we enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony before heading for the nearby train station. Villa Pollio is conveniently near an ATM and a little supermarket, and a short walk down a busy road to the sea front.

Meta is rather a grim little town, with little to offer in the way of shops, restaurants or pretty beach, but serves as an excellent base for exploring the Amalfi coast or Pompeii, and it is far from the madding crowds.

We would highly recommend this beautiful villa, and commend the owners and the staff for the quality of their service.

We were late getting in and still received a warm welcome from Alberto. His English was good and he reviewed everything in the apartment. We were thrilled to have a kitchen where we could make our own morning coffee before starting the day. The kitchen boasted a plate of freshly picked oranges and lemons. The next day he brought us another plate of fresh picked loquats, oranges and cherries. Delicious and totally unexpected. His mother gifted us with a bottle of her own home made limoncello and explained it was best to drink it very cold. We loved having morning coffee and tea on the balcony overlooking their garden area and enjoyed the night air there are well. When it rained we were offered umbrellas. The rooms are large and spacious. A big difference from other places we stayed in Italy. The beds were comfrotable and everything was extra clean. We loved our stay here and will choose the Villa Pollio again any time we are in the area.

I would recommend Villa Pollio to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Meta or around the Amalfi coast area. The house is beautiful and the staff is extraordinarily nice. They were very helpful with whatever I needed and dropped whatever they were doing in order to fulfill my needs. The room is absolutely beautiful and well equipped with everything you need: food, linens, TV, hot showers, small kitchen, etc. The view from my balcony was also wonderful. From the Villa it is about a one minute walk to the train station and then a 7 minute train ride to Sorrento. From Sorrento you can do anything; however, Meta is also very beautiful itself. I enjoyed walking through the small town, meeting very nice natives, and also enjoying my own smaller beach. Nonetheless Villa Pollio is an excellent option for anyone looking for a nice place to stay with great people willing to help you.

This was a great property to stay in, easy to find from the train or bus station, so getting to and from places i found so easy not having a car. The beach too was only a walk down the hill Breakfast was self served which was great as no pressure to get down for breakfast before it finished! There was a lot of written information regarding places to go and things to see and do in and around the Naples/Sorrento area and Albert was very helpful in also suggesting places to go and how to get there. The room was cleaned throughout my stay also. In all a very cosy, friendly and relaxed place to stay.
