We stayed here in June for a week. The hotel is In a peaceful location just above Torbole and allv the nearby locations were accessible. There was a hotel shuttle bus down to Torbole or you could walk down in about 40 mins. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the food was plentiful and varied to suit all tastes. Three excursions to Venice, Verona and the Dolomites were included with this Thomsons Lakes holiday which made it very good value. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a quiet location but yet within easy distance of other locations around the lake.

We stayed here as a group of friends after an overbooking on the part of Newmarket holidays meant that we could not go to our original hotel in Riva.At first we were reluctant, as we had wanted to be in the centre of a resort but as it seemed the hotel had a lot to offer including indoor facilities for inclement weather (forecast but never actually materialised!) we opted for the Continental and what a great choice it turned out to be. Not isolated at all, as some people had suggested- there are two roads to walk down, one Roman and cobbled, one asphalted and much easier underfoot though both are a slog coming back uphill. As stated by others there are plenty of buses and the hotel shuttle. We loved everything about the hotel- the food was fine, you must be very difficult to please if you found it disappointing. The staff are wonderful -one our party needs a gluten free menu and they were very attentive to this. Mrs Tonelli is a delight, always around to check that things are Ok-Alex obviously a very experienced barman and comedian! Hotel had just started offering yoga by the pool one morning per week- a great idea. A word of praise too for Newmarket Holidays who handled our situation very well, including upgrading us to half board without charge. Their rep Frederico was also a delight, a polite and attentive young man who took us to and from the airport and on a tour of the lake and was a credit to them. A great holiday, fondly remembered for some poor Engish football, but hey what's new!

Room Tip: The hotel is generally very quiet, however some rooms on the first floor are directly above the outs...

The hotel is located in Nago, a small town that neighbours the lakeside town of Torbole. It is approximately 1.5 Km from Lake Garda. As far as I’m aware there are no views of the lake from the hotel, however we were fortunate in having a corner room on the second of three floors of accommodation. We had a large balcony and a lovely view over the mountain. I did note that some room were not so fortunate and the view was into a cliff face. But not that unpleasant. The rooms themselves are well maintained, clean and comfortable. The rooms are cleaned and restocked every day. The rooms had mini bars that were at reasonable prices.
The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They helped us to get a Taxi from Mori when we arrived by train and were of assistance in any way that we required, including getting a doctor when we needed one and bringing us food to the room when I was laid up for a day. None of this was charged to us.
The hotel run a daily shuttle bus into Torbole, when we were there is ran down at 9:00 and return at 16:00. The bus had a capacity for 9 people so its run on a first come first served basis. They will call a taxi for you if want one though, this costs about 8 euros. If you want to get a taxi back, best to get a card from one of the drivers as they can be a bit intermittent in Torbole itself.
We were staying on a half board basis. I admit that the food wasn’t great and was marginally poorer than I had expected. But it was OK and quite honestly I can’t really complain for the price we paid. We also had a free carafe of wine and free water with every meal so overall it was very good value for money. There are a few places in Torbole to eat if you want to go a bit more upmarket.
Due to the lakes proximity to Germany there are a lot of German guests. So if you like to meet a lot of people on your holidays and you don’t speak German you may be a little disappointed.
To sum up we really enjoyed our holiday here. It was one of our most memorable times and we would definitely return. Highly recommended.

A lovely hotel in a quite village just above Lake Garda. An easy 25 minute walk down to the Lake, (or you can catch the shuttle bus) and plenty of local buses back if you cannot manage the return journey. The hotel is very well managed, spotlessly clean, and the staff is always pleasant and welcoming. Special mention to the cheerful chambermaids who helped me with my attempts at Italian! We enjoyed our meals throughout the holiday, an excellent choice of Italian dishes to try, and the breakfast sets you up for the day. Each day there was plenty of fresh fruit available to add to your meals, and the tea time treats were most welcome. Lorenzo and his team in the restaurant work very hard, and of course Alex was great fun and introduced us to Hugo, a delicious aperitif. Each day we had a couple of hours be the pool- a little way from the hotel in an old olive garden, delightful to be under the shade. We look forward to the next visit to this charming Hotel.

Travelling as a couple with Newmarket Holidays, we spent a week at this hotel. I have to disagree with a recent negative review - Hotel Continental gave us a magnificent holiday! The attitude and friendliness of the staff was first rate. The cleanliness of both our room and all public areas was immaculate. The breakfast buffet gave a varied choice of both hot and cold foods that was constantly replenished. The evening meals and gala dinners became an "occasion", the company of other diners and the plentiful house wine made the evenings memorable. All of the staff at the hotel went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable - we didn't have any negative experiences! A week at The Continental wasn't long enough, we will be returning.

We have recently returned from our fifth stay at the Continental since we "discovered" it 18 years ago and it just gets better. The most remarkable thing about it is its staff, from Signora Tonelli, whose parents built the original hotel in 1960 and who, at 80, still works a 7-day week ensuring that everything is just right, to the reception staff, restaurant staff and domestic staff everyone is smiling, pleasant and helpful.
We booked a standard room, which was large and very pleasant, absolutely impeccable in its décor and cleanliness. It had a 6-foot bed, which was very comfortable, and a balcony with a stunning view down the valley towards Lake Garda. The bathroom was well appointed and the maid kept it well stocked with toiletries. There are bath robes, slippers and a minibar. The hotel supplies towels to use at the indoor and outdoor pools.
The food was, as usual, delicious. Breakfast is a huge hot and cold buffet; you could not go hungry. Dinner consists of a varied salad bar plus 4 courses. Hot dishes always come to your table piping hot and freshly prepared whether you arrive early or late in the dining room.
This is not the hotel to choose if you like to be in the centre of a resort, but you can still get about without your own transport. The village of Nago is a delight, with its quaint houses and a ruined castle on a cliff overlooking it.
We've read the very negative review from "LoadersRus" and just don't recognise it as referring to the same hotel.
We will go back!

We loved this hotel! It is in a quiet village but with easy access to all the action either by public transport, walking or the hotels shuttle bus. We found the staff to all be extremely helpful but also good company! The hotel is spotless and they really made us feel welcome and part of the family! Nothing was too much trouble. The food may not be to everyone's taste but there is plenty of it. I am extremely fussy and I enjoyed the food. Afternoon tea is a delight and a very nice touch. Alex the bar man is fantastic! This is our 2nd visit to the Lake and we preferred being up in the mountain to enjoy the spectacular views! Will definitely return to this hotel and without doubt recommend it. We left valuable items in our room all week and they were never touched, I felt very safe here! The present on departure was also a very touching gesture! Great hotel, great staff. Look forward to returning!
