We stayed here 3 nights (2 and 1) book ending a week spent in a villa. Lets not beat around the bush, Noci aint nothing to write home about. I'm not sure what the draw is for many to stay here. We did because i found some great reviews, it wasn't more than an hour from the villa we were staying in, and they were flexible with the bookings and amount of nights. This place is great. Very beautiful and tasteful, away from the hordes, very peaceful. To my count, it probably has no more than ten rooms either. This is a good thing, means nothing gets impersonal. There is an amazing swimming pool, bar open all day - which the kids loved, being able to get their soft drinks, ice creams, biscuits etc. They've restored two Trulli. The restaurant is great, in fact one day we spent there was a public holiday, and the locals flooded in. It was great to people watch, as well as the food itself. The room was big enough for the four of us, they very kindly added another bed for my son. Mino, and the lady who looked after us on the first day (my apologises for not remembering your name, you really were lovely), were excellent and warm hosts. I'd have no qualms staying here for a whole week. Like i said, Noci is nothing to look at, but there is beautiful countryside around to explore, if you like that kind of thing.

We spent a really enjoyable week at Abate Masseria with our extended family. It is a perfect place to unwind - a quiet beautiful setting with charming friendly staff, who couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The Trulli accommodation were beautiful and spotlessly clean.
There are lots of places to visit (the Grotte di Castellana are very impressive) and the beaches south of Monopoli (although a bit of a drive), very pleasant and pretty. Our only gripe was the incredibly slow service in the restaurant (I understand not owned by the hotel). Although our waiter was always cheerful and ready to help, we usually waited over 1/2 hour to even be asked for our drinks order. We complained after the first dinner but it made no difference.
We highly recommend the hotel but suggest the B&B option is preferable.

After driving more than 300 km´s on our way back to Bari airport, we arrived to this oasis of vacation atmosphere where we had chosed to spend the last vacation day. We were well received by Angelica and got our keys to the junior suite we have booked. We were not disappointed at all and it fitted perfectyly a family with two teenagers. The suite was very nice and clean and just outside the door we found the nice green garden and the pool. All very well kept. We spend the afternoon relaxing at the poolside with a drink from the poolbar. Wi-Fi was available at all times in the garden / pool/ reception area. Being a danish family we normally have dinner nor later than 20:00 but this is of course Italy. Still we were a bit surprised by being the only one at the restaurant for some time. About 1 hour later we were the only danes among 200 other guests !. And we understand why. The restaurant serves excellent food and have a fantastic wine list too (great beers as well). Apparrently , the restaurant serves some of the best pizzas in Puglia but the dishes we had were great too. Next morning we enjoyed a stylish and refreshing breakfast. One night stay were not enough.

Room Tip: try the pizzas

We had a whale of a time here and would have no hesitation in recommending the Abate to all discerning travellers in Puglia.

Noci is a pleasant little place, with a centro historico, in the attractive part of Puglia known as Valle D'Itria. The Abate is located just to the south of the town and is set well back from the nearest roads. There's plenty of easy parking on-site.

The guest accommodation is separated into two areas either side of the pristine swimming pool. One is a reconstructed stable block, and the other is a little group of converted "trulli" - the sturdy, round, cone-roofed huts that are local to this region.

We were very happy to be in the trulli area, and our suite, Room 106, was actually a cluster of three trulli; two big cones for the lounge and bedroom, and one small cone for the facilities. Bags of room in the separate living and sleeping quarters, and a high standard of accommodation throughout. And who wouldn't enjoy staying in, basically, a large stone-built, thick-walled, high-roofed igloo!

Other than a sofa and a table, not a lot in the lounge trulli, but through an arched entrance it led to the bedroom trulli which had an ample wardrobe, little fridge, flatscreen TV and a big, wide, firm bed - and I slept like a log for a week.

The little bathroom trulli had everything that could be expected, although the shower was built against the curve of the wall so it was a bit of a squeeze for a 6-footer once the door was shut. The shower worked well with no leakage or stray jets of water. Hairdryer was a bit of a monster and had no nozzle.

What else; effective and quite air-conditioning in the bedroom and lounge. Big shiny ceramic tiles on the floor, alcoves with pots around the walls. The whole suite was attractively, but plainly, decorated and the room servicing was efficiently conducted on a daily basis. Like all the other rooms/suites, we had a little outside seating area and we were near the pool area, and by the well-tended gardens. So that was a pleasant place to end the night with a cold beer before retiring.

Breakfasts were taken outside the Abate's restaurant, and there was a good range of quality cold choices, all fresh and frequently restocked. A toaster was available but rarely used. The restaurant was also open in the evening and seemed very popular with locals. Plusher inside than I would have expected, with young, friendly, english speaking staff. There was a safe range of menu and wine options with plenty of pizza choices too. We quite liked the decor and atmosphere, but local restaurants in the town seemed to have rather more adventurous menu choices.

The attractive swimming pool area was compact within the designed garden, and there was plenty of natural shade. Sunbeds were good quality with plenty of availability. Two or three umbrellas for the more exposed areas would have been useful. The adjacent bar was well subscribed, and the english mentality for afternoon tea was duly acknowledged.

As someone who is not usually too worried about the level of interaction with staff, I have to say that the ladies who manage this place were absolutely delightful. Christina and Angelika were corkers. Both friendly, helpful and charming, and more than happy to make restaurant reservations on their guest's behalf. Christina's husband and the Abate's owner Mino, was a nice guy too.

Not a lot of inglese in this part of Italy, so you can feel a bit of a curiousity when you're out and about. However, all the locals we met were friendly and keen to engage. Plenty of attractive places to visit nearby - with the ubiquitous trulli everywhere locally.

Can't think of a better base than the Abate to explore this handsome part of Puglia.

Room Tip: Choose a trulli room if you can

It's really nice to read your detailed and honest feedback. You have told us how you really felt during your stay in our Masseria and we are happy that you liked it. Hearing that you enjoyed staying in one of our "high-roofed igloo" is a pleasure for us. We are looking forward to meet you in the future. Next time we'll do our best to have more umbrellas around the pool.
Thank you for your words and that you couldn't think of a better base than our Masseria to explore the handsome part of Puglia.

We had a wonderful stay for 10 days in the rustic masseria build around historic trulli. We very much enjoyed hospitality of the management and staff and the tranquility around the pool and country side. Rooms are very clean and well maintained, as is the pool area.

Room Tip: In room wifi should work, but did not.

After spending the early part of the day driving all around the valley visiting its unique towns and architecture we happened upon the farm and stopped in for lunch , It looks like a great place to stay if you want to try living in a Trulli house . We had lunch instead which was delightfully fresh and full of flavour . I had a Cavatelli with veal sausage ground in and my wife had Orecchiette pasta Tomato and Basil was really tasty add a great wine and it was a true delight , well worth a stop next time you happen to be in Noci the Gastronomic Capital of Puglia Italy.
enjoy

We stayed at Abate Masseria for four nights at the end of a cycling holiday and we couldn't have wished for a more beautiful and peaceful place to relax and unwind. From the moment we arrived (complementary coffee offered immediately) we were made to feel so welcome by the small team of staff, who are exemplary. They couldn't have been more helpful and charming and by the end of the four days they felt like friends. Within a few minutes drive of the charming town of Noci, the Masseria is tucked away in its own delightful grounds. Beautiful swimming pool with lovely bar at one end from where you can order a drink whenever you want. We stayed in one of the standard rooms which shared a little private front lawn with the next-door room. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The restaurant (which is open to the public) is very attractive with good food, and the excellent breakfasts can be taken on the charming outdoor terrace. Because of the small number of rooms the place is never crowded and at times it felt like our very own peaceful haven. We will definitely go back. One point to bear in mind - the restaurant can be busy at the weekend, and does not serve dinner on Sunday evening. However, the staff will recommend local restaurants and book one for you.

Thank you so much for your review! We are so happy that you could breath the air of Puglia in our Masseria and enjoyed it: the little privacy, the charming outdoor terrace, our staff.
We are proud that you will come back and it will be a pleasure for us to see you again. Probably next time the restaurant will be closed on sunday evening but definitely we will be there for you to suggest another place where you can enjoy apulian food.

Best wishes to Winchester!
