Bergendal meeting is a typical conference hotel, so you would probably not end up here while on vacation or on a "regular" business trip. I stayed here in september 2011 while attending a conference. I had a mixed experience. I was though very impressed by the food. Both lunch and dinner was really excellent, so was the breakfast.
Bergendal consists of two buildings, One mansion style building from the early 1900s or late 1800s, and the hotel/conference facilities which are from the 1970s. The view from the restaurant and some of the meeting rooms are really beautiful. They have an ok relax/sauna/pool area, the pool is a heated outside one.
The rooms did not match the rest of the hotel. It is a 4-star rated facility but....come on! The rooms were more like 2 star. Very plain and simple furnitures. Stains and damages on walls and floors. It was reasonably clean, but still it felt a bit dirty and worn because of the stains and the damages. Bed was comfortable, and it is a quiet location so I slept well.
Staff was ok.
And one last thing...don´t even think of going here if you are in a wheelchair. One of our consultants (which is in a wheelchair) found out he wasn´t able to get to the restaurants and some of the meeting rooms, so he left the conference because of lacking accesibility.More
