“Good location - noise from train station”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2013

This hotel is next to the Sollentuna shopping center, where you will find a selection of restaurants and shops - everything closes at 8 PM. Remember to get a room away from the train station, as the noise from the trains can be high. Train to Stockholm takes appr. 15-20 minutes.
Rooms are very different - some with an iron, others not. Some with tv in bed room others with tv in living room.
Breakfast is good with a wide selection of food - not extravagant, but ok.
Fittness room is small, hot and with one bike, one cross trainer, two treadmills and a weight training tower plus a couple of weights. Pool is very small.

Very good hotel with clean rooms, lovely lobby and facilities including meeting rooms. Breakfast came with a good selection which was also above expectations and in a nice spacious area. Love the warm and homely decor in the rooms. And they have recycling bins with sorters for your trash. Great efforts to go green!

Do note that although this is next to a train statin and mall, it's about half an hour away by train from the historic town centre if you are here only for sightseeing. Otherwise it's a good area to be with the locals.

The best about this is the location. You're close to the commute lines and the mall.
Next is the buffet breakfast. I like that there's child-friendly food, and there's even a supervised play area for kids (during breakfast). There's a spa, gym, and pool--though it's very small. Some stays we have rooms that have not been aired out, the musty smell lingers. But the staff are nice, the service is just right.

The hotel is really very good, friendly staff, everything you need in order to feel comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the swimming pool, which appeared to be very small.
The hotel has a good location. Next to the hotel building there is a train station and also a shopping mall. Although Sollentuna is not a central district, you can still feel like living in a center of Stockholm.

Good hotel, excellent service and nice staff! Kids feel very welcome :). Location ok, shopping centre just around a corner and a 15 min. drive by car to the centre of Stockholm. Everything was organized well.

I’ve not stayed here for maybe 10 years - just the way it’s worked out, but this time the 3 business appointments I had were all about 30 minutes away in 3 different directions from Sollentuna, so I thought I’d give it a go. And it was cheap (by local standards).

The car park remains a pain with payment to a meter being required, but at least now you can pay with a credit card and not have to have Swedish coins in your pocket! It’s cheaper that the Scandic garage too! Instructions are in English as well as Swedish, but the machine only works in Swedish so you’re left hoping all is ok while it (slowly) does its stuff.

Into the hotel itself: It still looks bleak and old fashioned and really could do with a bit of a refurb to reinvigorate it. The receptionist was friendly though, but not very forthcoming about the hotel and what was what, and what was where till I asked. On reaching my room I was quite pleased though. It was bright, clean and clearly benefiting from a relatively recent refurb. I needed to work at the desk and the chair was too hard, but a cushion grabbed from the sofa sorted that out. There’s a new WiFi system since I was last in a Swedish Scandic, but once signed in, it was very convenient if a little slow.

Dinner that evening was via buffet voucher sold to me by reception (when I asked where the restaurant was). The restaurant was in the atrium of the building, in fairness I could see that from reception! The buffet was adequate, came with a small bottle of Heineken (in Sweden!!!) and had salads, main courses and fruits etc for afters. It was nothing special and the hot food was at best warm. Once was enough. Next night I took the classic menu - all they could offer as an alternative, so burger and chips or steak and chips, but at least it was fresh and hot, and cost less than the buffet the night before - even with far better and local Mariestads beer!

Being in the atrium made it very noisy with echos of voices, chairs scraping etc.

Breakfast in the same location was strange. Normally Scandic breakfasts come on a regular sized plate, but here they used side plates with a notice along the lines of ‘take as much as you want, leave as little as possible’. Laudable maybe, but really unnecessary from Grandma Scandic. Also, while the usual array of cold meats, cheeses, fruits, breads cereals, etc and hot offerings were present, there was no bacon! Shame.

For me, the hotel is a real dichotomy. The public parts leave a lot to be desired, the room was acceptable. I don’t know if I’ll return.

When you realize that trying to utilize your automobile the city of Stockholm is impossible, then there are lots of advantages in choosing this hotel located directly at the underground stop.

Good business hotel. Acceptable food. Nice shopping center next door.

Parking can be a problem. The small parking lot, not inexpensive, is constantly patroled. Fortunately, the hotel was extremely helpful in getting this resolved. Still, one gets the feeling that they earn more money on the parking lot than they do on the rooms....

With a little bit of time spent on Internet search, an appreciable discount was discovered, including breakfast!
