“Good Entertainment Pub Food”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

The real reason for going to the place is for the entertainment which varies day to day or week to week; mostly popular South African artists. It is smallish which gets you really up close to the action on stage; the food is very acceptable even if pub stylish which it is supposed to be given the venue atmosphere which is wooden tables and chairs with a large bar counter running down the back of the hall. If you are looking for fine dinning then this is not for you, if you are looking for a really fun night, reasonably priced, go for it.

“Supper with Show by Dowwe Dolla”
Reviewed 14 February 2014

This must be one of the trendiest and nicest theatre restaurants in the country. The menu is extensive and there is something for every taste. Good portions, well priced and good quality food are served under pressure before the show starts. The wine list is compact, but adequate. We saw the new Dowwe Dolla show (Betaal Belasting). She is the alter ego of the owner of the venue and extremely entertaining. What a laugh!! The ambience is fantastic and the audience , all seated at tables, were thoroughly enjoying themselves. I had the Pap and Meat special - Lovely fillet, with avocado, biltong and nice sauce ang the pap. It was excellent. My wife had the Prawn Pasta and she also enjoyed her food.

“Listening to a band and eating dinner at the same time.....heaven!”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

I went to see the Jesse Jordan band here a few weeks ago and really loved it. The venue is perfect for an intimate show. The sound system (and guessing the sound engineer) was really good....hate when instruments drown out vocals!! There was not a bad seat in the place. The bartender/waiter was fantastic...making recommendations for food (who knew biltong pasta was so delish!??!) and wine (since every wine list he could find was in Afrikaans). Hoping to catch another show there in the coming months.
