The front of house staff were very pleasant and fast. The food was fantastic for everyone. The entire family had a great time.

“Great food at a resonable price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2013

We have visited the Riverhouse many times for both a Pub lunch and an evening meal. The food is always very good as is the service. Whilst it is not always busy it is a great place to eat out, and we have never had any reason to complain. The Steak and Ale Pie is fantastic and even has mushrooms in it to give that great traditional taste. If you have not tried the Riverhouse it is well worth a visit .

what more can I say than the food here is locally sourced, prepared to order and served with a smile. these people have a great pedigree of local catering in fact I believe bob the chef not only was a lecturer at the nearby colledge but also worked under anton mossiman at the Dorchester hotel! great atmosphere, lovely wine list, great portions and if it's all too much I can personally recommend the accommodation... peaceful and quiet. I would recommend this place to family, friends and strangers looking for a place to eat or to stay be that on holiday, a weekend break or on business.

“hidden gem with a secret garden. you wont be disappointed here.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2013

im never disappionted when i eat here so its about time i told other people. As well as a great little restaurant the riverhouse has great bed & breakfast accomodation (the rooms bit has loads of reviews on trip advisor for hotels weymouth!!!) There is a great lunch menu & a seperate dinner menu as well as seasonal specials and snacks. in addition there is also a 10 pounds for 2 courses taster menu where you can choose from starters, mains & sweets. Its good value & not one of those menus where the portions are small versions of the specials but just a good deal offered by the pub. We opted for taster this time around and i enjoyed a rigatoni in a rich napolitain tomato sauce for starter & an awe inspiring Best of british for main which conisted roast liver & bacon, sausage & mash & roasted pork savory duchs accompanied with a rich onion gravy. Mum had fresh salmon fishcake with a cucumber dill sauce followed by dark chocolate italian ice cream bombe. All the food was homemade & the mains were accompanied by a generous plate of potatoes & seasonal vegetables which included braised leeks which one rarely sees nowadays. After lunch we relaxed in the pubs gardens with our coffees ( and i had a great pint of otter). Mum didnt have a drink as she was the driver. its an Easy place to park as it has a very big car park which is on the flat & easy to get in & out of., Which is also great if you have mobility issues. I must admit i am a fan of small eateries & as they become more scarce they become more valuable. keep up the good work riverhouse .
thank you for reading my review i hope it is helpfull.

“Our little local haunt for Friday nights off from Cooking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2013

We have been going to the Riverhouse since we moved to the area in 2006. The menu changes from season to season making the best of the fresh produce available at this time, We have enjoyed many of the specials, the Pasta dishes are amazing, the steaks are cooked to perfection and the sauces available always very tasty. I can honestly say in the many many times we have eaten there we have never had a bad experience. The beers both Real Ales and Lagers are kept really well and the wine selection is very well chosen.
