Beautiful hotel with a lot of character and a great atmosphere of the Italian countryside.
The reality is way nicer than the promotion of the hotel on its webpages.
Very nice staff, good service and tasty food. Just one culinary problem - which is a bit of a paradox since you are in Italy, I had here the worst tiramissu of my life but on the other hand the best spaghetti with clams :-)
It is a dog friendly hotel, my puppies were in heaven!

All in all, simply a great experience and perfect relax, you must see!

We stayed there for 1 night and we wished we stayed there longer and cut our Lake Como shorter :P The hotel was fantastic. A bit faraway from the hustle and bustle - pro very peaceful, con - for those not driving it might be difficult to get to the centre for food and stuff. We had a small suite/ cottage. It was clean, nice and comfortable. Luxurious even. We had some problem with the shower though. Poorly designed as the whole room was the level so when we showered, the water starts overflowing into the bedroom. The swimming pool seems so inviting. Pity we didn't get to dip in as we returned late after dinner. So many nice nooks and cranny to explore. We walked all over the property. In front of our room there were an olive and grape vineyard.

Our complaint - horrible wifi connection and an ok breakfast.

My family had a wonderful stay at the Corte Cavalli - a beautiful old farmhouse set among vineyards and magnificent countryside. We arrived at night and as our hire car didn't have sat nav, we had to rely on the map on my phone to guide us there! From the moment we arrived, the service was fantastic - they kept the kitchen open to feed us, even though it was 11.30pm by the time we had unpacked. I have to say the food was excellent, cooked lovingly by a talented chef, and the wine selection (including the local Lugana) delicious. The accommodation was very comfortable - our rooms were in the old farmhouse building and had everything we needed.
Our mornings were often spent at the pool, which had very comfortable loungers (and no shortage of them) and then in the afternoon we would explore the area. Garda has loads for families to do, picturesque villages, boat trips, kids activities (including the giant theme park Gardaland). If you want to travel a little further afield, the beautiful town of Verona is a short drive away and Venice can be reached within a couple of hours by train.
There can't be many better bases for exploring this lovely region of Northern Italy. I would definitely return and I recommend the Corte Cavali highly.

My feedback is tailored to the hotel's star grading; sounds obvious but many reviewers fail to do that.

This was a two night, dad and son trip.

The hotel, a former farm, is set in beautiful idylic very tranquilll. The conversion is very tasteful with many original features. My son and I had a large room; elegantly furnished with a large, very well finished bathroom. The reception staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely swimming pool and comfortable loungers.

There are however a few things that let this hotel down. Breakfast flatters to deceive; the buffet is set out in a beautiful room that leads out onto a covered terrace. The food however is a big let down and so out of keeping of what you expect for a four star hotel that has positioned itself as a tasteful retreat. Machine coffee; concentrate for juice, which you'd find at a 5 year old birthday party; tinned fruit; fruit salad made up of 90% apple; and cheap cuts of meat and cheese. The Scrambled egg may have been fresh at 8am but by 10am on both mornings it was a congealed lump - no one had stirred it or refreshed the pan. The single waitress was overwhelmed and there were uncleared tables everywhere. Access to the wi-fi was over complicated; with individualised passwords created. Bizarrely, if you wanted to change the air-conditioning you had to telephone reception where all rooms are centrally controlled. The process works, but leaves one shaking your head.

So in summary, beautiful hotel, ideal for a peaceful break and located only 5 mins from the lake. However lets it self down in a few areas, and given we paid €150 a night was not good value.
p.s. note the sat nav will send you to a residential street 1km away

Room Tip: Take one of the converted stables

We stayed in this hotel for days. The setting is really magnificent : a former horse farm, which is very nicely transformed into a hotel. Reception is friendly, swimming pool is really nice, breakfast and dinner were served on the very nice terrace. However, some remarks to be made :
- The junior suite we had (room 203) was relatively dark (only two small windows). The room was nice however.
- The airconditioning in the room is not powerful enough, which makes it impossible to bring it to the desired temperature
- In the evening it happens that the water in the shower is not warm enough (which is not an issue in the morning, so simply due to their water heating capacity).
- Food quality is OK in general (we stayed in half board), but desserts are very average. Announcing a plate of fruit as "dessert of the chef" illustrates the chef's low level of creativity with regards to desserts. What was not acceptable was that on the last morning we stayed there, the bread that was being served was definitely not fresh !
