We felt so welcomed by the staff, who were very warm, friendly and very proud of all their home produced meat, cheese and tasty, fresh cakes. it was fairly quiet as we stayed in June but this was nice as we had free reign of the pool etc.

You'll need a car to get around really, but the location is great if you want to travel around a bit. Head north for the beautiful bays like cala brandichi etc. or south for lovely places like cala gonone or heading into he mountains. Posada is quiet but has a couple of good restaurants if you want to eat out (though the food at the hotel is fresh, plentiful and very tasty). There are also a few nice beaches around posada which are nice.

Would definitely go back given the chance!

Only opened in 2009 - Looks much better in reality than on the published pictures (please : can a talented amateur photograph post some pictures that honor the gentle ambience !) -symphatic and no nonses, small scale (20 rooms) hotel managed by a local family and next to a traditional farm (owned by the same family) providing the kitchen of wonderful fresh and local products - rooms and spacious restaurant set in a  modern interpretation of a local building surrounded by Mediterranean plants & flowers and a relaxing pool aside - well tucked away hideaway with beautiful vistas on the surrounding mountains and the old tower dominating the small village of Posada - little bit isolated from the sometimes overdeveloped  tourist centra (during my stay in the high season of august a real benefit) but by car very well linked (only 10 to 15 minutes) to Budoni (with a wide range of dining options) and a very nice little beach with an sympathetic open air beach bar (perfect for lunch /apero) at San Giovanni - truly friendly and enthusiast local staff and excellent service (free wifi included) - simple but spacious and very well kept rooms decorated with local textiles and a big balcony, perfect for relaxing, reading and thinking with on the background only the sound of the wind and the bells of the free roaming sheep and goats on the fields surrounding the hotel - restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner : typical rural kitchen of high quality with homegrown and local products served with lots of joy de vivre and at very reasonable prices - with an extra little magic touch of a talented (interior) designer (please also check the noisy technical room next to room p103 and the noise of the pump of the pool) this hotel-restaurant ll be a true gem - excellent value for money : to recommend !

The grounds are immaculate and the buildings well maintained. The room spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were first-class - immensely friendly and welcoming without being over-bearing. Delicious food - typical and freshly made dishes - well worth going half-board. Beautiful pool. Staff always around so you can buy drinks or snacks from the bar. Good location but you need a car. Plenty to see in the surrounding area - beaches and little villages or historical sites. Staff speak English but happy to practise Italian with me! Breakfast fine but a few more cereals with milk available would be good for British visitors. Plenty of Italian visitors which we took as a good sign. There is a well-equipped gym which I can imagine would be very nice to use when the weather is less hot!

Room Tip: We had a room on the front of the hotel which looked over the entrance and the hills beyond - no pro...

We spent a week at Maria Caderina with our one year old daughter and had a wonderful time.

The staff were amazing: Monica on the front desk, Milko and all the staff. In particular, the Italian pro-baby culture meant the little one was not only always looked after, but was adored by everyone!

Our room was facing the hills. Elegant and functional furniture, with beautiful Sardinian decor, though given how new the place is I would have made the shower bigger. We often sat on the balcony – lovely and cool place to sit drinking the rest of dinner’s wine (and with the baby asleep).

We put the cot in the bathroom (so the baby would be in a different room), but oddly each day the housekeeping staff moved it back out.

Food at dinner was excellent, with divine pastas: apparently all the vegetables, cheese and meats are home-produced. The variety was not huge, but when we asked for an alternative, they very happy obliged. The breakfast buffet was a little disappointing. Lots of homemade cakes, though all tasting fairly similar, a large fruit bowl, rolls and a plate of cheese and salamis. The wasps seemed keen on the meats – ask them to put a cover over the plate. Coffee was excellent.

The swimming pool was great: given that we weren't driving around every day we often had the pool to ourselves. Lovely temperature and so peaceful!

Ignoring advice from others, we had not hired a car: although there is an airport bus to Posada it is not possible to walk the last couple of miles as there are no footpaths. However, no regrets: the hotel gave us lifts when we needed (including when we got stranded in Posada on the first day and were rescued by the police ... long story), with six journeys costing less than a single day’s car hire.

Overall the hotel is a beautiful respite from life in the city. We found it by searching the top rankings on TripAdvisor, and we are very happy to confirm other people’s ratings.

Room Tip: Our room faced the hills and had a great view. The rooms at the front have less privacy, as the balc...

Spent the last two weeks here. Thoroughly enjoyed it. A fantastically relaxing experience and the people that work here are all lovely. We ate in the restaurant a few times and it was really good, fresh typical Sardinian food (Do your research on typical Sardinian food before you go, they love their cheese!)

All in all, I'd go back again, we had a rental car so went off exploring every day to a different spot and the location is brilliant for this. The pool was frequently empty (as most people go to the nearby beaches) and you'd have it all to yourself.

A beautiful, countryside Mediterranean hotel with an amazing pool and friendly hosts!

My wife and I spent a most relaxing 10 days at this family run hotel. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the personal touch was what we experienced. There was nothing that was too much trouble, and the food and service were second to none, and their homemade red wine was very drinkable too. Home cooking so good, that my wife who normally eats meat spent five days trying the vegetarian dishes, as they were so good. The pool was just large enough and so peaceful. We had hired a car, but that took us only to the local beaches, all lovely, and then back to the hotel. We enjoyed our stay so much we would love to return, maybe with other members of our family to enjoy it all over again.
