The parador is well located in an old castle in a romantic hill town which is, itself, interesting to explore. We chose a balcony room looking over the hills opposite and despite quite a lot of traffic using the road below, it was mercifully quiet and peaceful. The interior has been sensitively renovated with lots of modern features to both reception and guest rooms. There was a bit of a problem with the air condition which I had to ask to be turned on in the first place and was then turned off at night but otherwise there were excellent facilities for luggage, clothes, safe and mini bar/ A spotlessly clean very large bathroom. As usual, no tea or coffee making facilities but a large choice of goodies at breakfast. We ate there both nights from a comprehensive menu of which a number of dishes were regional cuisine. Memorably - roast lamb, chicken stew and stuffed red peppers - sounds a bit boring but the tastes were superb. My only negative point was the staff on reception who sounded like they couldn't give a damn whether we stayed or went and weren't particularly helpful
