I stayed for just one night as part of a large group tour and our one night wasn't ideal - very rainy and blustery, so no real chance for us to explore the grounds or see the views. We also arrived on the same evening the hotel was hosting a large wedding, and it was obvious that most of the staff were focused on that event for the evening (which went on, with loud music, for a large part of the evening). I understand that the appeal of this hotel is a nostalgic trip to the past, in a 'fancy' setting but I would rather have had better amenities that were more modernized. The room in general was just fine and comfortable, although the comforters on the bed seemed to be cleaned or sprayed with something very heavily fragranced - we had to put them in the armoire because the smell was giving us headaches! Dinner was OK - our group had very mixed experiences with the meat dish that was served (some overdone, some very raw) but breakfast was better - some of the best croissants I've had. All in all, I don't think I would stay there again, and I would make sure it is the type of hotel experience you're looking for before booking.
