“Awesome! Relax and smile”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014 via mobile

The place is beautiful and the hotel and rooms are beautiful as well. You feel the relaxation right away. I loved to shower and see the mountains from the window! It was cold but the swimming pool looked great.. I wish I had gone during the summer. You have to have a car because there is no lunch or dinner and you can't really walk to places or take a bus. I loved it really and would go back again if I could!

We arrived at Villa Rizzo on our first day in Italy, after driving from Rome. It was a little difficult to find, with that being said, the drive up the private road through the chestnut orchard was well worth the search. It was breathe taking. We have 15 pictures of just the driveway. Our room was top notch with a wonderful view off the balcony and a spectacular view of the valley. Amazing sunsets! The staff was extremely helpful, breakfast was delicious with a good cappuccino. We did not stay for dinner, as we found a wonderful restaurant down the road. The menu did look inviting. We were there during the off season, so amenities (pool, spa) were limited but a great place to relax and enjoy a quiet villa. Almalfi Coast, Pompeii, and Salerno were easily accessible.

P.S. Loved the mini pony!!!!!!

We stayed for 2 weeks in one of the 2 apartments on this site. The location means that you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Italian countryside and can travel to see Almalfi coast, Vesuvius, Pompei, Naples etc. We also had a trip South into the Clienta mountains and to Paestum. The rooms and grounds were very clean and tidy. Linen and towels were changed twice a week. Bring your own beach towels to use by the pool. The pool was excellent and restaurant and bar very good. We only had 2 meals at the villa as there are plenty of very good restaurants within a short drive. The quality of the food was good although the menu is not huge so you would get bored of it if you ate here all the time. There are some external day rate guests that use the pool and spa especially at weekends but it was still not too busy. Reception staff spoke reasonable English and were helpful. You need to have a car and a steady nerve to battle the crazy driving.

Positives: quiet location, near some very good restaurants (ESP La Divina Commedia) and great value.

Sadly they had an issue with the pool when we stayed and neither of us fancied a swim while it was green!

Rooms are large, with sofas. Breakfast very nice.

Booked this place for the website advertised a la carte restuarant and small animals for our 4 year old - neither exist - the restaurant is basically a poolside bar with awful and overpriced food two choices per course and the dessert offer is an ice cream from the bar freezer....Magnum anyone, the animals comprised 2 geese living in a rubbish strewn pen and a lonely pig living in complete squalor, they should be ashamed. The staff are nice especially the breakfast team and the rooms well appointed and clean.....the spa is a joke too.

Room Tip: If you have young children don't get a suite on 1 st floor as they can fall through gap in balco...

We stayed in Villa Rizzo for 2 nights. What an awesome place. 10 minutes from Salerno and the beginning of the Amalfi Coast. Situated on a citrus farm, with SPA and swimming pool. We loved it so much, we had to really motivate ourselves to go on to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast drive. Very friendly staff and highly recommended. You get what you pay for.

We travelled with 8 in our group. The property houses a few different "apartments" and is full of fruit trees and scenic views. There is a beautiful pool with bar area and a small restaurant for guests only. The rooms themselves are clean and new.
You feel like you are in the middle of the country and can fully relax, there are no cities etc. in walking distance and would need a car. There is a spa area also but we didn't have time to use it. I would highlyrecommend this property if it works into your travels.
