The Hotel is lovely, beautiful surroundings, the views of the mountains are spectacular, incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Rooms lovely and clean, wood beams everywhere which smelled lovely. Food also great.
The downside to staying at the hotel is that there really is NOTHING close by. We did not have a car, but even if we did the area itself is incredibly quiet, which would be absolutely fine for those who want to laze around the pool all day, but as a young couple who enjoy spending time exploring different towns experiencing food in different restaurants and enjoy a lively atmosphere of an evening, this really is NOT the place to stay.
A number of booking websites mentioned that the town of San Cipriano Picentino 'where guests can enjoy a host of bars and restaurants' was a 10 minute walk away, this was NOT the case, we ended up walking for an hour to find an empty desolate town with nothing in it.
As there was nothing in the area to do, we ended up going to Salerno several days and taking the boat to Amalfi which was spectacular, easily the highlight of our trip.
If you do not drive and end up paying for taxis, be warned the Hotel will rip you off, they charged us 20 euro for a 5 minute journey to the Pizzeria down the road (beautiful food but whole menu in Italian so make sure you have your phrase book). They also tried to charge us the same price for 15 minute journey to Pontecagnano train station as a 25-30 min journey to Salerno (50 euro).
It was a shame that there was nothing nearby as the hotel was lovely and the area very picturesque.
Also be warned that if you do not have any special offer for the spa, you will be charged 25 euro each just to sit in a jacuzzi and use the sauna and steam room (complete waste of money).

All in all a great trip due to travelling far out from the Hotel and enjoying spending time in the larger towns of Salerno and Amalfi. Although Hotel was lovely we would not stay here again, even if we had a car we would not go back to this area, we would instead stay closer to the coast.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked lovely.

A gem of a small hotel, hidden away in countryside but easy to find as well sign posted along the road. Comfortable bed and pillows and very clean. We did not try to use the TV so don't know about channels. There is no lounge to sit in if the weather is bad but next to the large and beautiful pool there is a covered open air area where food and drinks are served and there are some sofas there. This is where you will want to spend your time as it is picture perfect. You need a car as there are no facilities nearby but the food there was excellent and reasonably priced. They also have a spa which is well hidden away with special offers which you can request by e mail from their website. If you are holidaying along the Amalfi Coast, treat yourself to a night or two there to recharge your batteries.

Room Tip: Ask if it's possible to have a balcony or a patio.

Spent two nights at Villa Rizzo and was really impressed by the rooms, the pool and the surroundings. Very well kept and beautiful! Really tranquil and relaxing place with nice surroundings. We liked the accommodation a lot but did feel that the food and the service was not up to the same standard. No flexibility and difficult when no english was spoken except in reception. We tried the Spa and some treatments but were disappointed with the quality and hospitality. Nothing extra, and for example my 45 minute massage was over after 35 minutes... It is a shame because the place is beautiful and some warm smiles and welcomes would have made it a fantastic experience.

The place is beautiful and the hotel and rooms are beautiful as well. You feel the relaxation right away. I loved to shower and see the mountains from the window! It was cold but the swimming pool looked great.. I wish I had gone during the summer. You have to have a car because there is no lunch or dinner and you can't really walk to places or take a bus. I loved it really and would go back again if I could!

We arrived at Villa Rizzo on our first day in Italy, after driving from Rome. It was a little difficult to find, with that being said, the drive up the private road through the chestnut orchard was well worth the search. It was breathe taking. We have 15 pictures of just the driveway. Our room was top notch with a wonderful view off the balcony and a spectacular view of the valley. Amazing sunsets! The staff was extremely helpful, breakfast was delicious with a good cappuccino. We did not stay for dinner, as we found a wonderful restaurant down the road. The menu did look inviting. We were there during the off season, so amenities (pool, spa) were limited but a great place to relax and enjoy a quiet villa. Almalfi Coast, Pompeii, and Salerno were easily accessible.

P.S. Loved the mini pony!!!!!!
