if you love the outdoors and fresh air and easy relaxation then this is for you, wake up early and go for a walk along the multitude of clearly marked walks, running is lovely if you into cross country style running.the rooms are designed to connect with other rooms for family holidays, there is a heated pool and a normal pool, food is excellent buffetfor breakfast and dinners with light lunches essential. the Stir frys are legendary!

Room Tip: wake earlyand go for a walk, april after easter is brilliant and relaxed and suggest a minimum stay of 3 nights to really unwind.

We have spent a lot of time in the Drakensberg Mountains. It is world heritage site and is simply spectacular. Normally we plan a few walks and take off into the mountains. However at Cathedral Peak there was so much else to do we decided to just relax and explore the hotel and its grounds. We played crazy golf at altitude and swam in the hotels pool. I have to say that the pool has the most stunning back drop of any pool I have ever swam in! Our room was lovely and my wife said its layout was better than any we had stayed in. The view from our patio was the Cathedral Peak summit along with its Bell Tower and the Inner & Outer Horns. At sunrise it was illuminated by the rising sun making every inch of rock glow red. We ate breakfast and took afternoon tea on the hotel verandah. Dinner was a buffet and there were huge choices. There were also chefs on hand to talk you through what was on offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. There is an old fashioned feel where the staff and service was exceptional.

Room Tip: If its a special occasion pay a little extra for the honeymoon suite

I recently spent four nights at Cathedral Peak, with young family.
The Hotel is amazing, the location is the best in the Berg, and so is the food and service!
The buffet is extensive with some thing for every one, roasts, salads, fresh trout and stir fry's ..delicious, fresh and well presented.
Walks from the Hotel are incredible, asked for a packed lunch, and head into the mountains.
The service was amazing, and the staff looking after the children were unbelievably helpful and fun.
The family rooms are well appointed, spotless and huge, with great views.
I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to the Berg!
Wayne and Tania

Room Tip: Family rooms are huge with great views

We stayed for 2 nights as a group of over 100 guests. The hotels never seemed under any pressure to deliver, whether it was meal times or conference arrangements. Access to the mountains was easy and any of our group was able to take a walk and find themselves in the beauty of nature and the surrounding Drakensberg mountains. The mountain pub provided a cosy location for after hours socialising.
