“Of major religious and artistic importance”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

The home of a devout and scholarly monastic community, but also a place of great historical and artistic importance, and very beautiful, especially the coffered and gilded ceiling of the church and the fresco-cycle in the chapel. Don't miss the Renaissance cloister and the museum with, among other things, a fascinating collection of votive objects recording cures once wrought by the saint.

(There's also an important library, but if you want to use that you should ring up beforehand.)
