“Excellent holiday rental for the relaxing types AND outdoorsy types”
Reviewed 12 April 2013 for a stay in June 2011

I had a fantastic holiday at Su Domu Grogu.

Sardinia is such a beautiful country; I don't think I've ever enjoyed the drive from the airport to accommodation as much as I did during this holiday! Absolutely stunning scenery.

The house is spacious and has a cosy, authentic feel to it, yet, keeps cool even on the hottest days. Excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities (especially handy if there is a large group of you staying).

I would say this house is perfect for outdoorsy types. Plenty of room for kit storage. Ideal area for cycling and hiking. Also there's pretty good climbing routes and consistent surf. As it's on the west coast, you're pretty much guaranteed some good swells during winter. Really close to some beautifully clean beaches too if you would prefer to relax and work on your tan.

A short drive away, restaurants serve some gorgeously authentic food at reasonable prices.

Finished the holiday feeling wonderfully relaxed and refreshed. Would book to stay again in a heartbeat.

“the perfect holiday”
Reviewed 24 January 2013 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed at Su Domu Grogu last summer - two families of four, and the house was the ideal size. I don't normally write reviews but we were looking at the website to see if we could go back this year - sadly booked up when we wanted but we're all determined to return next year. Everybody agreed it was the best holiday ever: all the beaches on that coast were just heaven and all completely different in character - you could never get bored, we swam every day; snorkelling one day, diving through breakers the next or just relaxing and swimming out into the most beautiful sea. Trattoria Ricardo in Magomadas is a wonderful place to eat (book early!) but what we enjoyed most was buying great fish, meat and fresh food in Bosa then cooking at the house - loads of barbecues on the roof terrace, and the kitchen at the house is surprisingly good and well-equipped for a holiday rental. The little grocers nearby has good bread and enough bits & pieces to make up a nice picnic for the beach. There's even a little bar in the village if you want to watch the football with a beer. The church by the house is beautiful - the bells are hilarious and once you get to know the routine they stop being a nuisance - and it's all part of the character of the place.
The house isn't an ultra-modern luxury villa, but that's part of what makes it so perfect; the quirky bathroom on the first floor, with its vintage hip-bath, is charming and the rest of the house is just simply furnished - everything you could need and nothing more to get in the way. It did get a bit hot at night in the sweltering August heat, but there are fans - and the children slept downstairs where it was cooler.
We had such a good time and we really did all say it was the best holiday ever.

Afraid the vintage hip bath has gone with the complete renovation of the family bathroom upstairs this Spring. But we hope our guests this year will enjoy the new facilities.

“Yellow House - Blue skies.”
Reviewed 7 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We have retrurned from a week at Su Domu Grogu wishing we could have brought some sun home with use. Car hire was straightforward in Alghero. Then the journey to Sagama was stunning - a winding coast road, a pull off to watch gryfon vultures circling then through hills to the traditional hill top twon of Sagama. The church bells start at 7am and finish at 10pm chiming the hours and half hours. We soon got used to them but it was harder to get used to the noise of sets being laidin the lanes and alleys of the village, however they will soon be finished adding to its attractiveness. Meals were a pleasure whether in the kitchen, on the roof terrace in the shade of the pergola, or in the first class restaurants of nearby villages. Morning walks before the sun was hot, and evening strolls through the atmospheric village were delightful. During the day we visited beachs, nuraghi and spectacular mountains. Su Domu Grogu is a spacious beautiful house with comfy beds. A added faility - a young couple have opened a small general store a few minutes walk away. We watcched the Italy v England match in the village bar and friendly locals offered us tissues after tyhe penalty shoot out.

“Spacious house in lovely quiet totally Sardinian hill top village yet not far from beaches”
Reviewed 18 June 2012 for a stay in June 2012

Sitting on the roof terrace enjoying the sunshine and looking at the lovely views - bliss. House in the middle of village and only 20 mins away from beautiful beaches on this unspoilt coast. In June we had a couple of days with the beaches to ourselves. Wonderful flowers on coastal path. Bosa nearby town is pretty and has all amenities. Great place for a relaxing break.

We have found that the neighbours have been generous to a number of our house guests. One of the many special things about Su Domu Grogu is its location in such a unique, friendly and, above all, Italian village.
