“Good budget hotel, better than expected.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2014

I needed a hotel for one night with my two small girls (8 & 4). The hotel was one of the cheapest on Expedia and offered breakfast in the price. We got to the hotel about 8:30pm on Saturday, parking was tricky as there were lots of parked cars and the hotel did not have its own car park. We did however manage to park close by, about two minutes walk to the hotel.

The hotel was basic but of a much better build quality than say a Premier Inn. The room again was basic but perfectly good for a short stay. Breakfast was of a standard that is common to a lot of continental hotels and again was OK. They did not have an evening restaurant service but there were a number of good restaurants nearby and the staff were helpful in recommending one. There was what looked like a nice poolside bar which was open to at least 11pm. There is also a good beach next to the hotel.

I am not sure I would want to stay there for more the a few days but that is because we tend to book more expensive hotels but if you were looking for a budget holiday then you could do a lot worse than to book here.

Whether for business or leisure , this nice boutique hotel in Mati by the sea is a wonderful option.
The sea view , the welcome of the family (a family run hotel) , the smile , the cleanliness , the swimming pool , the friendship of the owner are all of high value. yes the owners let you feel that you are at home and they are ready to help you. they prepared breakfast for us before the breakfast hour.

You can see the green forests , the sea views , the smell of the flowers in the area which is lovely. If there is no traffic , it can be good for business stay (July & August) as well. if not , it is more than half an hour drive to the center.

I will come again when I need.

We got to Rafina at 11 pm and had no problem getting a taxi to Nea Makri/Mati. Nice room, friendly staff and they let us stay on til 7 the next night at no extra charge. Lovely pool area and cafes/tavernas/ supermarket nearby.

A peaceful rural stopover it sure beats going through the chaos of Piraeus

Room Tip: The rooms over the sea are best but as we were staying on til 7 next night it was agreed we'd ha...

If you want an airport stopover or you are touring Attica, this hotel makes a fine choice. We spent one night here after arriving quite late at the airport. The rooms are compact, very comfortable and well equipped. Every standard room has an oblique view of the sea from its balcony. The mattresses are very good quality, as are the the toiletries. The staff are remarkably warm, welcoming and helpful. The delicious breakfast was cooked and buffet, and we enjoyed it next to the sea behind the wind screens that shield the delightful pool. On-site parking is very limited - always a concern with hire cars! - but the road beside the hotel is fairly quiet. We will return.

I really want to like this hotel because the staff were so friendly and the location relative to the ferry port of Rafina and the Athens airport. A 10€ taxi from port - 30 minute/30€ taxi to airport.

There are a couple of decent tavernas nearby.

OK - the downsides - broken fixtures and mosquitos in both rooms. Patio door was ajar when we came in - suggesting maids had opened it to air out the room but also allowing biting bugs inside. The hotel management knows about the mosquito problem as there was a sign saying should they be present to contact them. We did and they produced a big repellent vaporizing system like I use while camping. The only problem is that it doesn't kill mosquitos - it only drives them away - and my device clearly states that it's not to be used in an enclosed space. Needless to say I awoke with about a dozen bites (no cover sleeper).

Really - it's a nice hotel - the staff was great - for an evening stopover between ferries and airport - but check for mosquitoes before going to sleep - curtains & bathroom in particularly.

Stayed here a few days ago with my sister. What a beautiful hotel with friendly staff and really great views. There's a lovely restaurant about 1 min walk from the hotel with really good Greek food and an amazing lounge bar by serving amazing cocktails. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a nice quiet stay. Also Rafina port is close to the hotel making it more convenient for those island hopping by ferry.

We weren't even supposed to stay in Athens, but a flight delay put us in Athens overnight. We booked at Hotel Cabo Verde b/c it was close to the airport. We had a major issue with our cab driver from the airport (long story short: he mistakenly drove us 2 hours out of our way, to the wrong place, did not have GPS nor a smart phone and didn't speak English). When we arrived at Cabo Verde, the cab driver was trying to charge us double the fair... we frustratedly stormed into Cabo Verde with this cab driver mess and George at the front desk greeted us with immediately with a sense of calm and "I can fix this no problem." We were so tired and mad and upset, it was SO NICE to just have George handle our language-barriered-mess for us. He called the cab drivers boss, talked to the cabbie for a long time and fixed everything. He then continued with excellent service, by showing us where we could get a late night bite to eat, arranging a wake up call, and a ride to the airport the next day. The next morning he opened the continental breakfast a little early for us so we could partake before we had to go to the airport, and even joked with us about the craziness of the night before :) It felt so nice to walk into Cabo Verde and feel safe and taken care of!!! George is a model of costumer service!!! As far as the hotel itself: the beds were a little hard, but the view from the patio was breathtaking... I watched the sunrise over the water :)

Room Tip: Try to face the water to see the sunrise!
