“A huge park”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Showa Kinen is a huge park with many varieties of flowers, which blooms in different seasons. We visited in Spring, and there were stretches of cherry blossom trees throughout the park! Lots of space to move about and explore. We wanted to rent a bicycle but they were all taken! Wow! Great place to spend half a day or more.

“Experience Spring in this park”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

If you only want to enjoy springtime in Tokyo, the best place to go from April to May is Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa. For a while you will think that you are in Europe with the variety of tulips right in front of you. Tulips are much more beautiful when they are not fully opened. The park names all kinds of tulips but I was lazy to take down notes.

And if you are not interested with tulips, you can have poppies instead. The park also has rapeseeds at the opposite side where the poppies pop. If you are not interested with flowers in particular, you can spend your days walking, biking around. Or you can sleep in the middle of the park. Or have a picnic. Showa Kinen Park is a large park and you have lots of options on how to spend your day.

“Greatest Park I've Ever Seen!”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Showa Park is hands down the greatest park I've ever visited. There is so much stuff to do. My four and half year old daughter loves the bouncy clouds and giant hammocks. My wife loves the water park and bicycle trail. I personally love the basketball courts and disc golf course. We loved taking a pop up tent, packing a picnic, and wasting away a Saturday.
