“A part of france that is forever Canada”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

The vimy ridge complex is huge - you need a day to get round everything. Be aware and keep to the paths, the ground around is untouched , with craters and mine damage. there are still unexploded shells around. The recreations of the trench systems - both canadian and german impress you at how close some of the trenches actually were to each other. The memorial is breathtaking - go to the opposite side of the memorial ( the other side from the entrance path) to see the full effect. Kudos to the canadian volunteers who man the information centre and give guided tours.

“Came by this monument by chance”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Excellent talk by well knowledged staff, passionate and caring. Tour guide took time to check that the 20+ people in our group could ask questions, hear what was being said and even asked if we minded if she kept her sunglasses on whilst she spoke to us.
Had not planned to visit, but so glad we did. Learnt a whole lot more about trench warfare.
The monument itself is amazing.
One staff member even helped me with directions to the nearby La Tagette British Cemetery in Neuville-St-Vaast, where we had been heading.

“Wonderful and moving”
Reviewed 11 August 2014 via mobile

We visited here last week on a beautiful, sunny day. It's a fantastic memorial in an incredible place and is well worth a visit. One of our party was taken to the memorial in a golf buggy and the Canadian guide who took her was wonderfully helpful (Sylvie she thinks - thank you!).

“Takes your breath away”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

We visited here last week with our sons, 3 & 6. Our 6 year old was amazed by site and the trenches at the visitors centre. The sheer size of the memorial is breathtaking and the setting is beautiful, a wonderful and poignant memorial to the battle of Vimy Ridge. You can see the memorial from miles away and is well worth a trip if you are in the area.

“Well worth visiting”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

An easy stop off if travelling from Calais to Paris or the South of France. And well worth it. Great guides can show you the underground supply tunnels and talk about the preserved trenches. And the Vimy memorial is an amzing piece of architecture and inspiring
