The vimy ridge complex is huge - you need a day to get round everything. Be aware and keep to the paths, the ground around is untouched , with craters and mine damage. there are still unexploded shells around. The recreations of the trench systems - both canadian and german impress you at how close some of the trenches actually were to each other. The memorial is breathtaking - go to the opposite side of the memorial ( the other side from the entrance path) to see the full effect. Kudos to the canadian volunteers who man the information centre and give guided tours.
