“Totally breathtaking”

The monument can be seen from miles away. The tour guides are so very knowledgeable, and going through the tunnels is haunting. I really enjoyed this and came away feeling like i learned so very much, well worth a visit, very impressive.

“Humbling but inspiring”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

It is a beautiful and visually stunning monument to the bravery and sacrifice of men who, in truly terrible and terrifying conditions, fought for what they believed in. The surrounding, crater-pitted fields and woods, the restored trenches and the information available to visitors do their best to give a glimpse of what those men, ordinary sons, brothers, fathers, experienced and you are left to wonder whether you have it in you to have stood up and done your job like they did.
It's very right and fitting that we always remember them and in particular those who didn't get to make that long trip home.

“Pilgrimage to Vimy Ridge”

Words can't really express the feelings you get on visiting this site. Do the trench and tunnels trip and imagine how it must have been. Fantastic monument to so many brave men.

“A humbling highlight of the trip”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Stunning memorial site. The preserved battlefield area, in particular, is brilliant and enables visitors to visit trenches, tunnels and shell craters and, in doing so, gain an exceptional insight into the First World War.
Allward's sculptures are magnificent and I was entirely captivated by the image of Mourning Canada.
The staff are superb and we left, having consolidated prior knowledge and gaining a fuller, deeper understanding of The Battle of Vimy Ridge.
All in all, incredibly poignant and definitely worth a visit.

“Moving”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

I've taught about the Battle of Vimy Ridge for years but I did not have a full understanding until I was standing there. This is a must see for Canadians or any person interested in battle history. It is moving to see the ridge and the scars the soil still has. The guided tour of the trenches and tunnels is a must. Fascinating place but yet it is somber and peaceful. Go first thing in the morning.
