This hotel is lovely. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
The rooms are large and clean. Food is excellent
It is set in the Yorkshire countryside so the views are wonderful, you can enjoy some lovely country walks.

My friend and I stayed here for one night whilst walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way.

We were shown to our room and despite having booked a twin, we had been allocated a double. However, this was soon rectified by the staff who gave us the Kingfisher holiday cottage. Thhis was a great upgrade as it had a kitchen and lunge area with two large bedrooms. The bathroom was rather tired and after my friend had taken a shower, I went in and was treated to an ice cold one which was somewhat unpleasant. I reported this to the staff and they apologised for not having turned the immersion heater on and I can't realy grumble too much as they hadn't expected us to be staying in there and they gave us a complementary bottle of red as an apology. Customer service at its best.

Breakfast was adequate although no veggie alternative to sausages and bacon for me.

I have to say it is a little off the trail of the Wolds Way and having walked a fair distance from Hessle, the one and a half miles to the accommodation down a busy and dangerous B road was rather unpleasant. However, the staff gave us a cross country route to get back to the trail the next day which was a little overgown but safer.

Also, the hotel did not have a restauarnt so we had to get a taxi to South Cave to eat in the evening which was a somewhat expensive £8 for 1.8 miles! The hotel had promised to run us into the village for dinner when we had called to enquire about an evening meal but this didn't happen.

We stayed here one night after walking from Hessle. Charlie very kindly picked us up from the pub in South Cave as it would have been a three mile hike from the village along a busy road. We had a warm welcome from the reception staff and a wonderful home cooked dinner in the residents dining room. Our room was really quiet and comfortable. My wife's only niggle was we were given a room with a shower rather than a bath. They gave the room with the bath to an elderly gentleman who was also walking the Wolds but found it difficult to get in and out of the bath. He would have preferred the shower and us the bath. We suggest reception staff check before allocating rooms.

There is an owl and falconry centre on the premises open Thursday to Sunday. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast. It would be a superb location for a special event.

We went to Rudstone Walk for a Wedding. Staying in one of their cottages we were not disappointed, it had everything you could ask for and more. Great facilities, lovely views over the countryside and a space in which you could truly relax. The staff were extremely helpful and the area for the wedding was superb! A very friendly, relaxing and calming hotel. If I had a little niggle it is that we did have to ask a few times for toast at breakfast and the main evening meal could have been a little better. This however did not take away from what a fantastic venue this is. Highly recommended!!!

We chose to stay at Rudstone Walk for two reasons - proximity to family and the fact that our dog was able to stay with us. We were not disappointed. The hotel is just as we like to spend holidays - in the countryside and very quiet.
Following earlier reviews, I did contact the hotel to enquire whether our room had a sofa bed, and was informed that no rooms have sofa beds as the main bed. This put my mind at rest as I suffer back problems on a less than decent mattress.
We stayed in Teal cottage, a compact but perfectly adequate 1 bedroom property which is attached to the end of the main building. There was a good supply of kitchen equipment including washing up liquid, tea towel etc. The furnishings were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Our only niggle was the fact that, due to the compact nature of the bedroom, the bed was up against the wall. Although we are agile enough to cope with this it may have been awkward for some as no warning of this is given.
All of the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, especially when recommending dog walks. Willow (dog) was welcomed by all too. Our thanks to you all for a very pleasant stay. We will certainly consider coming again for as long as we have family in the area.
We did not make use of the restaurant as it is easier to self cater when travelling with a dog.

Room Tip: Teal cottage has 3 ourdoor walls, which means you can't hear neighbours.

Booked into kingfisher cottage for 3 nights. The hotel looks beautiful from the outside! Prior to arrival the customer service was very good and the man that showed us to his room was polite n friendly. The cottage however was old fashioned, shabby ( and not in the chic kind of way) and dirty. The bathroom had muddy hand prints up the side of the wall and the cream carpet was grubby and stained throughout. The dressing table had cobwebs on and one of the dining table chairs was broken and the sofa was dusty.

We have a young baby beginning to crawl, the carpet was so disgusting that I couldn't let my baby touch it.

To their credit they did come and re clean the bathroom but we never should have been checked in with the cottage in such a state. The carpet is beyond saving and should be binned!

Three times I went to reception and their was no one there.

The first night there was a wedding and the bedroom wall backed onto the kitchen so not only could we hear the wedding band very clearly but also crashing and banging of pots and pans. Finally it stopped and then the staff started going in and out of the celler which was right by our bedroom window. Chatting noisily with total disregard for our family - trying to sleep!

There was no welcome information pack, you just had to fend for yourself.

After two nights we had had enough and left, it totally ruined our babies first ever holiday.

The location and views are beautiful and the home made cake great but I would not in a million years stay here again.

Perhaps the other rooms are nicer, hopefully, but do not stay in king fisher cottage.

Ooh and the WiFi gave both our tablets bugs! Wonderful!

we have just had a family wedding here, we stayed 2 nights. all the staff are helpful and friendly, the locations is fab, we only traveled a few mile shut once there we felt we were much further away. the food was brilliant, we had a preplanned warm buffet for 12 the first night. both breakfasts we had were great too, the full english was very very good! we had the wedding service here and this was very well organised with no complaints at all! the wedding breakfast was fabulous, we had pork, which was good enough but it had the best crackling i have ever had! as for dessert it was apple crumble with custard, my word the best crumble ever!

i have kept this review brief but i could go on forever describing how good it is here. i think we may book a table at the neighbouring boars nest restaurant and have a room at rudstone so we can have a drink. very much recommended.

Room Tip: all the rooms looked good, there is a cottage section too which was a very nice space to stay in.
