“June 2018 Stay at Charming Cottage Hayfield”
Reviewed 14 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Charming Cottage is well equipped and comfortable. We spent a week here in June with such lovely weather. We found the first floor room overlooking the back garden is such a restful, peaceful place to be with a sofa and well stocked library. From the main bedroom there is a wonderful view of tall trees and sun shining through light green leaves. The living room is a sizeable comfortable two sofa space with a woodburning stove and the kitchen well equipped with plenty of room. Stairs to the first and 2nd floors are steep as are the steps in the garden to the patio area. Beautiful poppies and red roses in abundance. Hayfield is a 10 minutes walk and has a wide choice of cafes and restaurants plus a butchers shop that opens Tue, Fri and Saturday. From the home we walked to the local reservoir and also down towards a brook in a valley overarched by trees. The High Peak is a beautiful area and the locals we found very friendly. Try the Sett Valley Walk (flat) which leads to the Tea Shop serving most delicious home-made pastries and lunch/tea. Thank you Sabina for our comfortable stay at Charming Cottage. Milk and biscuits provided were most welcome on our arrival. Kind Regards Deborah and David

“Fabulous place, inside and out! ”
Reviewed 8 June 2018 for a stay in May 2018

What a gorgeous cottage, decorated with an eye to detail. We loved the unusual vertical back garden and, thanks to great weather, were able to recharge sitting out in the sun after exploring the local area. So nice to be able to head out for walks right from the doorstep - it doesn’t get much greener than that! Lots of places to eat in Hayfield, the Sportsman couldn’t be more local (less than 100m!) and the George is great value (2 courses for less than a tenner). Hoping to be back soon to finish off our « to do » list!

“Highly recommended cozy cottage in a quiet idyllic setting”
Reviewed 30 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Spent a very warm & sunny long weekend in this lovely, very comfortable, well appointed cottage in the lovely village of Hayfield. The owners have thought of and considered everything to ensure our stay was perfect. Great kitchen, very comfortable sofas and bed and a lovely powerful hot shower.
Just a short stroll into the village where there are shops, pubs and restaurants and a lovely tea room where we got our takeaway picnic lunch. Everything you need is close to hand including Kinder Scout and the stunning peaks.

“Immaculate, comfortable and beautifully situated”
Reviewed 20 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

This is a lovely cottage: simply and beautifully decorated, all mod cons and quiet. It is very well situated, being just down the road from the the starting point of several popular hikes, within about 20 minutes' drive of many other sights and no more than ten minutes' walk from the village centre. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

“Our second visit to this beautiful property, our stay was even better than the first!”
Reviewed 17 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

We don't normally return to the same property and location but this year decided to as it had been so perfect last year. We were thrilled to have made that decision. The cottage itself was just as we remembered, cosy, tastefully decorated and comfortable. Hayfield is a brilliant place to visit, with so much to do and see. We visited the Sportsman pub, it was under renovation on our last visit so we were looking forward to sampling their menu. We enjoyed the food and the staff were very welcoming. We are not experienced walkers but still find plenty to do to keep ourselves entertained. We are definitely going to return for a 3rd visit next year!

“Lovely cottage”
Reviewed 15 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

We stayed in this lovely and cosy cottage for 2 nights with our 2 children and we all loved our time here. It is situated in a quiet lane within 5 minutes walk of the lovely village, has some really nice pubs. The local pub is around 100 yards away and the food is fantastic. We went for a nice walk one afternoon and the scenery is stunning, after which we visited 3 local pubs which were all really friendly. After our strenuous afternoon we spent the evening in front of the wood burning stove which really makes the cottage feel homely.

We will be making a return visit in the near future and would highly recommend it to anybody.
