We've just returned from 2 fantastic days at this beautiful b n b. Roxanna is an exceptional hostess and so accommodating, she really cannot do enough for her guests. The rooms are spotless and so comfortable and the breakfast is beautiful, so much so we visited the butchers next door to take some sausages home with us. We didn't fancy a pub meal on our first night so instead ate our Chinese takeaway in the garden by the river with a bottle of wine and it was bliss. We genuinely will return and plan on bringing our family too. Thank you for a little piece of paradise :)

Just a short one night stay for my birthday, picked mostly because we'd read about a great walk straight from Bainbridge. We don't always go for B&B's as they can sometimes be a bit overbearing (which in fairness some people enjoy) but Roxanna was the perfect balance of friendly, chatty and helpful without making us feel pestered.

The bedrooms are amazingly cozy, full of character throughout and all set in a perfect little village.

As others have said, great breakfasts with fried bread to die for (honest).

Don't bother looking elsewhere, just go here if you can.

Thank you very much for your great review! I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay here, even though it was a short one. A lot of "research" went into the fried bread, glad to see it paid off :) . Thank you again and I apologise for the late reply, busy times in Wensleydale.

Best regards, Roxana M.

This was our second night stop over in the dales on a walking holiday, at first glance after a long walk, the riverside looked very run down and in desperate need of attention, however as it turned out it was the neighbours house we had seen first. What a pleasant surprise it was when we found the correct place. We were very warmly welcomed by Roxie the host, she was very friendly and attentive, and keeps this lovely little place spotlessly clean. She has added some very nice touches, such as an indoor bus stop in the dining room. There are artefacts and antiques tastefully scattered around the place, providing a very relaxed atmosphere without appearing cluttered. The rooms were very good, with wooden floors, 4 poster bed, and very good en suite with shower. I can't fault the place, the location is excellent, as the name suggests, right on the river bank, overlooking the Archimedean screw generator (no noise at all) which is fascinating to watch from the well kept and spacious garden which can be used by guests. We would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone. Thanks for a lovely stay Roxy, and good luck with your plans to visit all the locations recommended by your guests on your map.

Room Tip: Please ignore the ratings above for swimming pool and fitness centre, I could not remove the highlight!!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience at Riverside, much appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay here and that you liked the garden and the river, we're quite lucky to be located were we are. I'm hoping to see some of those places on the map this year, loads of beautiful places to see in the UK.

Best regards, Roxana

Stayed for the weekend before our first baby is born, Roxanna is the perfect host, friendly and chatty and with a good local knowledge too. The room and B and B itself were immaculate And the breakfasts were delicious, would definitely recommend it.

This B&B is absolutely lovely, cozy and very clean The en suite rooms are well equipped with four poster bed, toiletries, hair dryer and wifi. Really liked the attention to detail and the nice little touches such as tea and coffee with complementary biscuits. Roxanna is a lovely friendly owner/hostess with a quick whit and a super sense of humour, she came out to greet us and immediately made us feel very welcome. She also cooks a super breakfast. The quiet location is perfect with several pubs/restaurants in the next village of Askrigg within easy walking distance, about 1.5 miles away, according to Roxanna this can be walked within 15 minutes, but then again she is in training for the olympics. For the less enthusiastic it takes about forty minutes. Would definitely recommend this B&B.

Room Tip: room 1 is at the rear of the property, very quiet, overlooks the car park & garden

Thank you very much for the great comments, I'm very pleased you enjoyed your stay here. I must say that after long, extensive research I have now figured out why it took you longer to walk to Askrigg, It wasn't raining :)

It was a pleasure meeting you both and I do hope you'll come back someday!

Best regards, Roxana.
