“An idyllic retreat in the Yorkshire Dales”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

Probably best described as a boutique style hotel in an idyllic setting. We spent a very enjoyable two nights in the Rangali room complete with it's own hot tub in the adjacent courtyard. The rooms are reasonably spacious, comfortable beds and dependent on the room chosen, either a walk-in shower or a decent roll top bath.
Apart from seeing the Tour De France race through Bainbridge, the main purpose behind staying in the Yorebridge House was to sample the food in the restaurant - it's been on on my list of restaurants to try for a couple of years now. The food is quite exquisite - fresh ingredients (local where possible), beautifully cooked and displayed with artistic flair.
My starter, Tomato Essence, consisted of a magical combination of tomatoes, goats cheese, hers and a dressing of 'essence of tomato'. I don't often feel the need to take pictures in a restaurant but I couldn't resist it on this occasion. My main course of monkfish was equally special.
The staff are worthy of a mention - they helped to make our stay homely - always on hand when we needed them but never infringing on our private space.
We're already looking at dates for a return visit.

We had 2 nights in the Barn and 2 nights in the restaurant. The accommodation was very good. The newly converted barn had all that was needed for two days of relaxation. The hot tub was perfect after a 12 mile walk in the hills. The food on both nights was very good and even better than last time we stayed with interesting menus. Starters of duck and foie gras, followed by lamb was well prepared and presented. Local cheeses and then chocolate parfait was also very good. One evening a great lobster bisque was served as a amuse bouche. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service very friendly. One suggestion would be to extend the wine list to inlclude a few other choices. A very good hotel in a very good location. I would recommend a stay.

We booked this hotel after finding it on Trip Advisor and the reviews seemed so great and we wanted something really special for our 10 Year Wedding Anniversary. It seemed expensive for 1 Night (£330 Dinner, BB) but we couldnt resist based on the reviews. We booked the Kariega room with the stunning views and private hot tub. We were allowed in our room early which was a nice touch, but were met with loud, work being done right by our hot tub.. I called reception and explained this was our 10 year anniversary and we couldnt sit out in our private garden due to this, we were told it was only on til 3pm and we were allowed in our room early.. So thats was fine and i understood. We then settled in and started to enjoy and relax. We had our meal booked for that evening which was stunning with clean plates on every course. The waiter chatted to us and asked us the reason for our visit, I explained it was our 10 Year Wedding Anniversary.. Now this is the disappointing bit.. This is a small, intimate hotel with around 12 beautiful rooms yet, despite at booking stage and I also mentioned my reason for our visit, on 2 occasions our special anniversary was mentioned yet nothing was done about it.. Now I'm a travel agent and have been for over 26 years, part of my job is to to arrange these special touches to a clients holiday to make their holiday that bit more memorable.. Yet a 5* small intimate hotel with few staff, not one person could of arranged something for us, Ive been all round the world in my job stayed in all standards of hotels yet the Yorebridge Hotel chose not to acknowledge our reason for a visit, it didnt have to be inexpensive, just something to make a client feel special.. So sadly for us as the title we left feeling somewhat disappointed and wouldnt feel the need to return.

A huge thank you to the Yorebridge team who made our wedding on 10th May 2014 a huge success. We had the whole weekend at Yorebridge and from the moment I arrived and was met by Kate with a glass of fizz I just knew everything was in hand. Having experience running weddings myself in a large 5 star operation I knew just how challenging this could be but the weekend was seamless. If you are looking for an exclusive, intimate, high quality venue where every care and attention to detail is top priority look no further. Everyone in our wedding party was so impressed with the food, their rooms and the service not to mention the beautiful surroundings. We hired a marquee and a band, had approximately 75 guests and every thing was taken care of. All we would ask is " same time next year?" We loved every second and are planning to go back for all of our special occasions. Big thank you to Kate and Damien who ran the weekend like clockwork and did an amazing job! Thank you thank you thank you! See you soon, Lou and Tony xx

I stayed at Yorebridge house with my wife and 7 month old baby on a Sunday night. We were looked after very well and had a really nice time.

We originally booked the Cottage, but were upgraded because Sunday was quiet, and we're given the Greenwich room - a loft conversion.

The house is really good, very relaxing with a lot of attentive staff. We were able to put our baby to bed in the evening and felt comfortable enough to go downstairs for dinner with monitor in hand. There wasn't a fridge in our room, but we could keep the baby food in the bar fridge. The staff warmed up portions when it was time to feed him.

We didn't hear any noise in the evening, my only concern was that the room we had was hot at night for a baby and we left every window open to try and cool it down. If you're visiting with a baby I would recommend asking for a room downstairs where it's cooler.

Dinner was great, the food looked and tasted amazing, definitely the highlight of the stay :)

We'll be going back in the future, and will book one of the ground floor rooms with a hot tub for a couple of nights.

Of everything we were most impressed by the kitchen, which is open to the restaurant and produces some pretty special food very quietly and very efficiently....fascinating to watch and great to eat!! The restaurant is spoilt by some battered undersized tables...a table for two is a bit of a squeeze! As for exercise there is plenty of walking straight from the hotel and some very good pubs within easy driving ...but then as the Yorebridge has Black Sheep on draft why would you! Not a bargain by any means but then we did get over-excited in the bar!!

Room Tip: We stayed in Carabeo in the upper part of the Old School House which unfortunately has no opening wi...
