Rooms (i took the deluxe) is big. Tidiness is only ok, if you dont mind a bit of dust and certain spots not really cleaned.
bed - i hate the mattress as it sinks , cause me to have back ache. I have no choice but to sleep in the other direction (if you have a queen bed to yourself is fine). else you suffer the whole night .PLEASE UPGRADE bed and mattress to a firm one. I stayed in permaisuri MITC before, i like the firmness of the bed there.
Dayang coffee house: buffet breakfast only available when there is more pax staying in. For me, i went during low season and I am served "American breakfast" EVERYDAY. 2 sunny side up, 2 sausages, 2 pieces of bread .coffee/tea. I got phobia to sunny side up ever since.(i stay here for a duration of 10 and going on to 20 days).
Buffet breakfast is the same old offerings if there is any buffet at all.
I would prefer to stay in MITC for business purposes as it serves buffet breakfast everyday as they have many guests. But MITC rooms are not big and less cleaner than Puteri. For FAMILY holidays, PuteriResort is OK as the rooms are big and there is a big swimming pool for adults and also big swimming pool for the kids with gelongsor...and also other trekking activities. For business-> i would say we dont have time to enjoy this, but food is important, esp breakfast. and GOOD firm mattress.

Room Tip: choose rooms facing away from the Banquet Hall..those facing towards the pool and jungle is better.

The following is the content of my email to The Malaysian Association of Hotels Owners (MAHO) & the Minister of Tourism Malaysia on 20.12.2012:-

Dear,

1. Reginald T. Pereira, CEO of Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH),

2. YB. Dato' Seri Dr. Ng Yen Yen, Ministry of Tourism Malaysia (MOTOUR),

I would like to register my utter disappointment with the management of Puteri Resort, Ayer Keroh, Melaka during our Junior and Senior Camp of The Hemophilia Society of Malaysia (HSM) from 15.12.2012 to 19.12.2012.

I was one (1) of the facilitator on behalf of HSM to take care of 23 juniors hemophilia patients (age between 7 to 17 years old) together with twenty (20) senior hemophilia patients age 18 years and above for the said camp.

The camp was marred right from the day we arrived to check in on 15.12.2012 at about 6 pm. The rooms requested was not the same as promised by the resort of which two (2) of the rooms was separated from the rest of the group even though I had been informed that a deposit of RM7,000-00 was paid to the resort since June 2012 for confirmation of our booking and the requested meeting rooms and rooms respectively to be in the same location situated at the vicinity of the coffee house facing the pool.

The two (2) rooms separated from the rest of the group was located at Room Nos. 112 and 113 respectively and it was in deplorable conditions coupled with the fact that it had to pass through dimly lit passage hall and along the way one of the hotel room located about 10 feet from room no.112 was under renovation but IT WAS NOT COVERED /SEALED UP AT ALL FROM PUBLIC’S VIEW AND IT HAD NO DOOR AND NOT LIGHTED UP AT ALL!

This made the guest (meaning us), very uncomfortable when passing through the corridor of the said room under renovation and it seems that the renovation work of the said room had been abandoned. Anyone with ill intention could be hiding in the abandoned room which was dark and the resort guest could be rob or worst molested or raped etc....

Further to the above, room no.113 had NO AIR CONDITIONER. Only a standing fan and a ceiling fan were available!! This was not highlighted by the reception and there was no choice but to bear with it as we were informed that all rooms were fully booked on 15.12.2012. The toilet flush was also not in working order in room no. 113 and left over urine was present in the toilet bowl, which meant that the room was not cleaned and tidied up before we were allowed into the room!!

The following are summary of the other unpleasant events that were experienced at the resort:-

1. It takes numerous times to swipe the room card for entrance to the respective rooms at the resort and at times we need to sent the room card to the reception to be re-program before we can gain access to the rooms;

2. Water heater sometimes works and sometimes doesn't;

3. Meeting room at Laksmana 2 and Temenggong 1 are not cleaned and tidied up during our stay from 15.12.2012 to 19.12.2012;

4. At room no. 198, the air-conditioner control panel cover was missing! Hence, guest safety is compromised and guest may be electrocuted in view of the expose components of the exposed control panel;

5. The swimming pool was dirty and with algae growing at the side at the kiddie’s pool located near the tennis court;

6. Seating arrangement during meals where tables are reserved for HSM were occupied by others on several occasions but was not directed to be seated at their respective tables allocated by the resort staffs;

7. Checking out took about 1 hour from 1.30 p.m. on 19.12.2012 due to miscommunication between the resort’s sales representative in KL (where HSM had dealt with and paid the deposit for the booking of our stay) and the resort’s sales representative in Melaka, Pn. Hezlin. According to Pn. Hezlin whom had refused to meet with us initially to settle the bill as the invoice was not ready during our check out and she gave excuses to the resort’s reception through the phone that she was busy and had meeting etc… until we demanded to speak to the Duty Manager or the General Manager and had wanted to just walk away without paying the balance of the bills and the resort could just mail us the bill later as it was not HSM fault not wanting to pay the bill but the resort’s lackadaisical attitude! Only after much hassle and heated exchanges with the reception, Puan Hezlin finally turned up and the matter was duly settled and resolved at about 2.30 p.m!

We would like to register the above complaint with MAH and MOTOUR and hopefully to see an improvement on the quality and services rendered to the Consumer as the Resort had failed all the MISSION AND VISION as denoted in MAH’s website and had failed miserably to promote and safeguard the safety of its guest with such lackadaisical attitude.

Finally, I thank you for your kind attention on the above matter and hopefully the Resort will be reprimanded and given a warning to improve and safeguard the interest of its guest and promote tourism and make Malaysia proud with good operator that justify its existence to promote excellence and money worth to its guest. Failing which, please consider to revoke the Resort’s membership with MAH and not renewing its license to operate by MOTOUR.

Thank you very much.

Warmest Regards,
Jimmy Koh

I was in Puteri Resort for a week on business. The hospitality shown by the staff is commendable. Its huge parking bay is a plus point as so is its location where it is located hardly 5 kilometres from the Ayer Keroh toll.
Although there were numerous activities offered by the resort such as paintball, jungle trekking, absailing, team building activities it was a shame that I did not have the opportunity to experience neither as I was caught in work.
Will surely go there with the family and friends to enjoy the facilities offered and to swim in its huge swimming pool and its lake. Missed using its fitness centre and archery too.
The spread is okay but breakfast could have been better. It is famous for its barbeque ...and it was simply marvellous. Food was ample as the staff made sure of this.
The room I stayed in was rather small and badly lit but I am sure there were other rooms
All in all a resort worth experiencing.

Easy to find since it is close to PLUS hiway tollgate. Big room size with reasonable price. Meal are ok but not full spread of buffet. But have a great dinner arrangement during 2days weekend. Wifi only available at the lobby but not in the room.

Suitable for who look for privacy since it is located in other side of hill area, so mobile phone signal slightly low. Not sure about taxi service since I drive my own. No other option without car, you have to eat at the hotel restaurant.

Have big size of swimming pool... great for family wet trip for whole day.

Room Tip: Ask for swimming pool view room unless you love to look the bushy hill view. And ask for near to lif...

First of all,it's too far from the centre of the city.Apparently we have to call taxi services on our own as the front desk counter only pass us a piece of paper advertisement...I guess that's a bit too unhospitality.
Secondly,room's condition are very bad.I was astonished to see a ceiling fan in the room,but soon realized that because the air condition blew hot air instead of getting cold. Next, toilet can't be flushed.Rooms cleanliness very unsatisfying as there were lots of fallen hairs seen on the floor and beside the pillow.
Thirdly,food were bad tasted that I even skipped my dinner,purposely.
This hotel has a large pool, it's clean.if you interested in swimming or bring your child to play water. Recommend for travellers with own transport as it took the cab nearly 30 minutes to come and charges around RM40 one way.

Shocked to met such a terrible front line staff. It was us, the customers who ended up talking politely to the check-in counter staff, while she sounded so arrogant. And all we asked was if we can have our room changed!
Chip mug and glasses in the rooms. Bad condition mattres.
