“Sleep deprivation”
Reviewed 24 June 2014 via mobile

Wish I had seen these reviews before we booked! Had the choice of sleeping in a pull out bed in the lounge or a bunk bed. Not my of a holidays to put away a large heavy bed everyday and then make it every evening. No chance of leaving it punt though as it took up the entire living area and would have meant climbing over it to get to the kitchen or balcony. Mattresses on both the pull out bed and the bunk beads were thin and consequently gave no support to my bad back and finally the pillows were rock hard. A beautiful location but not easy to enjoy when all you want to do is find somewhere comfortable to curl up and go to sleep ....

in the building we were in, backing onto the practice golf course area, which had been refurbished , good, but the wakeup call by the lawn mower cutting the grass from 6.00 am in the morning was not so pleasant, windows needed to be open, other wise the Accommodation was good and the swimming pool enjoyable, local places to visit also good

Really great break at Belle Dune apartments from Saturday-Tuesday (so good they offered flexible start-end dates), with the added bonus that the accommodation was at a reduced price.
We paid for a VIP house for 6, and there was four of us - and I really don't think you would want more than 4 staying in there. Accomodation was lovely with decking in the back which went into the lake, and you could sit out there and watch the birds and a huge number of fish feeding in the lake.
Nice coffee machine in house (we were in Lake no 14), and perfect location - we had mixed weather and made the most of the wave pool when the weather was not nice. We intended to do the golf course, but weather not good on day we planned it, but very reasonable and nice driving range that only cost 3 Euro for 2 buckets, altogether lovely.
Only downside - single beds too small for my teenage kids, and could do with mosquito nets on bedroom windows

we used this place as a revision bolt hole for a teenager about to sit a GCSE science exam and we needed peace and quiet and you certainly get that. The location is stunning. The star very friendly and the accommodation more than adequate with our VIP apartment giving us lakeside decking , TV in 2 rooms and fabulous kitchen diner. Its not massive , in fact its a 1/4 of the size of similar places in Spain etc etc but is matters not. This is a lovely place for a peaceful vacation. Its a tale of two locations though, Fort Mahon Plage is gorgeous but the Quend plage the other way is a horrible run-down one horse resort... There are some negatives, the car park had two entrance pads but the one for left hand drive was broken and if on your own there is not enough time to use the right hand one with out the barrier coming down hard on your car , luckily we had roof rails otherwise a claim for about £300 worth of damage would have ensued. There are some annoying penny-pinching features like no door mat to our accommodation, massively squeaky staircase simply because short screws were used, beds all too short ( we are not hobbits ) and pathways did not drain properly after heavy rain. The site shop is rubbish to be frank , it looked like a looted store after a zombie apocalypse but the Carrefore up the road was superb. The indoor pool was fabulous.... by now visitors to france should know they need to pack speedos and thats not a problem but being told no shoes in the locker area whilst the entire place smelt of urine was a contradiction too far for me. Still I am being grumpy , this is a great place to stay and relax. The area is stunning and Local places to visit range from dire and depressing to spectacular and inviting , just do your homework...... RECOMMENDED !!!

Room Tip: choose a VIP apartment near the lake , close to house number 14.

Was very positively surprised. Had a wonderful stay, kids enjoyed it would like to comeback. We enjoyed the bike ride, the little farm, the beach ( weather was kind to us...) the swimming pool, the view of the lake at our door ... Superbe. The only downside is our house was kind of small. When I booked it I thought 2 pieces means 2 bedroom, we ended up in a bedroom with 2 adults and 3 kids. But the space I well used so... Not too bad. If I have to comeback I will book at least 3 pieces!!!!!

We've just returned from a super Bank Hols break at Belle Dune. Easy to find, easy to check in and super accommodation for the three of us.

My son loved the freedom of this CentreParcs-alike site, and we loved the safe feeling of the resort.

Everything clean, tidy and working...even the reasonable wifi (€10 for 3 days).

Bike hire was excellent...our 7yr old benefitted from a quiet 'location' point for some tuition from the friendly staff and 'lost' his stabilisers for the first time ever! Fantastic.

Pool was well enjoyed, although the rules were rather strictly enforced. All in a great 3 day break enhanced by 50% discount on booking. We will return!

My partner and I read the reviews on this hotel, some good some bad. We packed up the car jumped the ferry and arrived at the Belle Dune at 13.00 hours, we'd gone for a value weekend break. We found the Belle Dune with no problems and we're checked in within 10 minutes by th friendly receptionist. She explained where our house was on the map and gave us pool passes, and explained that if we were to use the pool that my partner would have to wear Speedo's. Our little house was approximately 3/4 minutes drive from the reception and overlooked a small lake ad open air pool. The open air pool was closed because it was out of season, but we expected that. On entering our house we booked a 1bedroom house that slept 4/5 people I was pleasantly surprised. All very nice decorated to a good standard very clean. Downstairs was small lounge,kitchenette/diner, the table seated 4 people. The kitchenette consisted of large larder fridge with a small ice box in the top, 4 ring hob, microwave oven grill, kettle, coffee machine, and enough crockery/ utensils/cookware to open a restaurant, all immaculately cleaned to a high standard. There was a toilet downstairs plus plenty of storage space. In the lounge was a sofa bed and television, Frenchdoors led out onto a small but sufficient concrete terrace with a table/4 chairs/2 sunloungers and a clothes airer. Each terrace overlooked the lake and pool and all the houses are in a circle round the lake with a bamboo hedge allowing some privacy. Upstairs was a double bedroom with 2 single beds and a really smart pull out bed that looked like a cupboard. There was a built in wardrobe and a hoover. Next door was the bathroom with a shower over the bath, the bathroom was lovely. In our house we were left bedding and towel packs, I didn't find it any effort having to make the bed.
All in all it was a lovely "hotel" more like a posh centre park. There were lovely walks to go on and you could hire bikes, you can take dogs to. The area around reception was like a small village with coffee shop/bar/arcade/entertainment room/restaurant which was expensive but it's France., and the pool which isn't owned by the hotel had slides/waves sauna and spa
The hotel is in walking distance approx 20mins from the beach and the Carrefore supermarket is about 5 mins drive. The little town is lovely with a beautiful beach.
All in all really enjoyable so much so we are going back

Room Tip: Our room slept 4/5 but wE comfortable for 2/3 adults, or 2adults 2children. Great if on a budget as...
