This hotel is a lovely mix of old house and designer hotel. The building is an old house with private open air car park on the edge of the town centre.
Inside the lobby and halls are painted black with an aluminium effect carpet and fancy wall lights that shine white light downwards and coloured light upwards.
The room we stayed in was on the first floor at the top of the main staircase. It had a larged bathroom with balcony window and an enclosed balcony accessed from a window in the main bedroom. The whole room was fresh white and well furnished in a style more fitting with the old house. Very nice indeed.
Breakfast was a standard continental buffet in the dining room.
All in all we enjoyed our stay. Durango is a very old town and medieval style market square and churches are well worth a leisurely visit.
Our small criticisms are that the bedroom doors need to be better insulated to keep down the noise of those passing in the corridor and as we were one of the last down to breakfast but with still an hour to go there wasn't much left and no staff around to restock. When a member of staff did appear they did bring out more food on request. I recognise that in the current financial climate less waste is better and fully understand.More
