Very friendly staff and a perfect location. The rooms are a bit old but clean. You can go almost everywhere in a few minutes walk and you will find out that everybody is friendly. The beach is near and crowded and i suppose nice. And all that in a fair price

We stayed in the NH Cristal for one night on a short visit to Alicante. The room was tiny, had a terrible view of the other side of a dirty building, and a window that didnt open. The air conditioning also didnt work, and when I told reception, she did not understand what an air conditioner was. There were hairs in the bathtub, the carpet was dirty, the bathroom ceiling was rusted, and it was very seedy. I booked it based on the reviews on Tripadvisor, and in 17 nights in Spain, it was our worst hotel. Not worth the cheap rooms. Honestly, my husband and I barely slept we were so grossed out and nervous about catching something from the room. Our second stay in Alicante was in the Melia hotel at the port - twice the price but MUCH nicer and cleaner. I wish someone had written an honest review about this place before I booked it.

Spent two nights at the NH Cristal on arrival and departure just recently, and want to make a note of how pleasant and helpful the staff were, and that we were very comfortable and slept very well.

This may not be the world's most beautiful building, and the rooms are not particularly exciting .. rather brown and uninspiring - but the basics are all there: VERY comfortable beds, super shiny bathroom with excellent shower & usual yummy NH toiletries, efficient, charming and friendly staff who gave good suggestions for somewhere to eat, FANTASTIC breakfast buffet (as usual at NH hotels - expensive but worth every peseta).

We didn't need the air conditioning, but double glazing was helpful - yes, there can be a bit of street noise but this is in the middle of a busy city! Hotel is in brilliant location, ten minutes (no more) walk from the seafront, five minutes to the old town, and even less to the bus stop for the airport bus and the tram stop on the line to Benidorm and Denia. There are plenty of excellent bars, cafes, restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinty, and we would happily return.

The clerk even made a photocopy of my passport. I think this hotel is on the ritzier side because it was booked through the program. Nothing wrong with it that I saw. Good smelling soap too!
