This hotel is a reasonably priced base for a holiday. Although some guests chose to stay by the pool we travelled in to alicante, or for beach days the Playa San Juan is outstanding and around 10 minutes drive away. On the plus side the hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, the tennis courts are great, pool is good and it is close enough to the tram station or by taxi for evenings in alicante centre.

On the negative side, we requested coffee making facilities, that were provided, however after day 2 the housekeeping staff stopped providing fresh cups etc and replacement coffee. We wouldn't wash them ourselves as there was only the bathroom sink and we didn't have washing utensils or washing up liquid. The rooms to the back of the hotel are noisy next to the tram and cliff with no view, The rear rooms seem to be the refurbished ones so are more up to date. The front room we stayed in was old and desperate for a revamp, but I would say better than the noise of the tram. There is nothing nearby worth a visit, therefore a drive or tram to beach/town/bars/ restaurants is required.

The hotel bars close early as well so as the driver it meant back to the hotel and off to bed!!

There is no fridge so anything to drink or eat has to be purchased every time you want it.

Overall an ok hotel for the price but just to be used as a base. Car hire or public transport is essential to enjoy the stay here!!

Room Tip: Book seaview and ask for a refurbished room - they may have some but ours wasn't

This hotel is 30 minutes walk from the center of Alicante, with the tram and cliff face behind the hotel and the sea infront. If you want to bathe then you have to walk 10 minutes to a sandy beach since the beach infront of the hotel is rocky. The hotel was cheap but even for one night it was a depressing experience. Not worth looking out of the window since there was only a cliff wall 2 meters from the window. Small room, glad I didn't have to share the uncomfortable bed. I expect that the rooms facing the sea might have been better but since the hotel was so far from town I definitely don't recommend it. The photos of the reception magnified the size. The communal spaces were much smaller than photos indicated. This was not a cosy hotel, service was okay. Even though it is supposed to be a no smoking hotel you could smell smoke in several rooms. I feel sorry for anyone spending a week there.

Room Tip: Be aware that the cheaper rooms probably face a cliff wall. Bit like a prison.

Dear Carina,

Thank you for completing the survey regarding your recent stay at our property.
Hotel is a not smoking but perhaps someone smoked without authorisation in the room. It is forbidden.
You probably booked an standar room wich is not sea view, I recomend you to book a sea view room next time, if you want to see the sea.

On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you gave us to implement improvements to ensure we offer a better experience for guests in the future.

I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 10 nights and it was just what we needed. The outside of the hotel really isn't as bad as what other reviewers have stated. We saw no problem, yes you are near other flats but the sea views made up for it. The pool was open from 10:30-14:30 and then again from 16:30-20:30 which we saw no problem with as we could go for a swim/sun bathe in the morning and then go off and do something in the afternoon and then go back again if we wanted to.

You really need to be tolerant with walking in order to stay there as there really isn't a lot around, a tram stop about 7-8 mins away from the hotel which can get to you alicante centre €1.45 for a single, or you can go the other way and go onto benidorm for €7 ish if you wanted to.

The staff were so friendly! Didn't have one problem with them.

The free wifi was a bonus, worked everywhere in the hotel except the pool area.

The room was decent but we were right underneath the tram line so it did get noisy, but learned to live with it. We could have upgraded for €12 a night but we didn't see the point. The bed was far too hard for my liking but everyone is different and the air conditioning unit caused a bit of nuisance because of the noise and occasional leakage.. Other than that lovely and clean.

The food wasn't that bad, we opted for half board and dinner was different every night with a few things to choose for starter and main. Could have paid extra for a different set of menus. Breakfast got a bit tedious as the week went on, basic continental, pastries and their version of bacon and eggs. The eating area could do with being made bigger just a bit as it could get quite busy at times and people would have to wait for their breakfast.

Overall we had a great time and would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted a nice break to alicante!

Only real negative for me was the location but its only 5 mins from La Isleta tram station which is 10 mins into Luceros in central Alicante. Room was spotless, shower was amazing and the bed was really comfy. Pool was nice but closed from half 2 til half 4 which I thought was strange.Staff lovely and helpful and there is free Wi-Fi. Enjoyed my stay but there isn't much happening in local vicinity.

If all you need is an inexpensive room/base (or want to play lots of tennis) then this is fine. If you are looking for a nice hotel with a beach and lots of places within walking distance then this isn't the hotel for you.
Positives-large clean room and bathroom (because of the exterior your expectations are very low so the room looks great upon first inspection-but it is ok)
Close to tram stop
Free wifi
Free parking
Negatives
No pool until Sunday 1st June (day after we leave). Wasn't on website through mobile devices and did explain this when we arrived that the reason we booked here was because we thought it had a pool ( and it was cheap- remember, you get what you pay for and in this case you certainly do). Reception asked for me to take a screen shot of this on my phone and email them which I did- the outcome a mention,I think, of the word sorry from 'duty' manager the next day- she will inform the web designer (nothing else).
Some noise from trams (from early in the morning)...it's not a quiet hotel and yes the walls really are that thin!
No beach
Not much choice for hot food at breakfast (pastry/breads/cheeses all fresh and fine if you want to have continental).
Looks awful from the outside (I had read the reviews but even that didn't prepare me when we arrived). The hotel is underneath a large, old and tired apartment block. Inside is much better.
On route to the tram/beach there is a small supermarket. The beach (5-10min walk) was lovely, very clean and quiet. (But no amenities-maybe until 1st June?). There were a small selection of bars/restaurants/shops under the bridge up the stairs on the right. The walk to Alicante beach was a little longer (about 30mins). Do explore the streets that run at the back of the main road in Alicante (opposite the marina area) a plethora of cafés, restaurants and squares. Far nicer than the seafront restaurants.

Estimada Kim,

I arrived with my two children to what looks like a bad council estate wedged next to a cliff. Do not come here if you have small children or a disability the walk to the bus stop is VERY steep. The pool was closed on the website it says seasonal we arrived 21/5 and apparently season doesn't start till01/6. There is one small local shop there are no decent cafés/restaurant within easy walking distance everything is a bus ride away other than one beach but no cafés or anything on this bracket. Def would not recommend in fact we stayed one night and are checking out.
