We took the tram to get to the San Juan beach from Alicante, and it has some cool views of the Mediterranean. The trams are not too frequent, so better check up the schedule. Good idea is to get the 10 trip travel card, as that economizes the price for each journey, and can be used on local buses as well.

As our hotel was very close to the Puerto del Mar,we were pleased to see the tram stop. Great! But,oh no! the tram stopped running from Puerto ages ago. There's a large sign above the platform, why don't the authorities place a notice warning holidaymakers of this? It's a fair distance to the next stop, specially in the heat. Shame.Only giving 1 star 'cos of the non tram stop.

Went from Benidorm on the tram, only n cost 23 euros for 4 adults and 1 child return, service was very good and trams were clean, but no toilets on board.

It is a good way to not only reach places around Alicante, but also to see the nature, different parts of the city, beaches, buildings. Alicante Tram lets you see what you didn't or couldn't notice on walking on your feet or traveling by car. :)

We normally stay in Alicante for a few days and then take the tram to Benidorm. There is plenty of room for cabin luggage. There are a few tram stops in alicante so its easy to get on board. The ticket machines are multi lingual so getting a ticket is so easy and its dead cheap too. Single to Benidorm approx 4 euros (Taxi To Benidorm approx 70 euros) Keep your tickets as there is normally a conductor that gets on at various stations. The Journey to Benidorm from alicante takes about 1 Hr 10 Minutes and goes mainly down a coastal route. There are a few stops on the way, there is a tram about every 30 minutes. You can also catch a tram from Benidorm to Altea, Calpe and Denia Etc this runs on the Hour and again takes a scenic route (Especially towards Calpe just dont look down!!!!) The Only Negatives is that some stations are well outside the main central areas - Benidorm station is a good 20 Minute walk down the hill (worse up hill) Calpe Is alot longer than that ! Altea Is good - Albir is a walk too.But generally we enjoy the walk... So If you are looking for a nice ride out take the tram!!! Ps No Toilets On the tram so dont hit the vino hard if you are travelling long distances
