Tickets easy to buy from a machine at some stations but staff are willing to assist the less than confident. Tram to San Juan took about 15/20 minutes. Easy local transport, forget the taxi.

Taking the tram from Alicante to Benidorm brings a touch of rural living to ones day. The system, heavily used by the local populace and tourists alike meanders along the coastal fringes passing through some superb scenery. The only drawback is the distance of the station in Benidorm from the Beach area itself, although there is a local bus service.

the tram station was easy to use and clean. the journey its self was to benidorm. i would imagine that in the summer months the trams will be absolutely rammed. it was busy when we went at easter. its fairly priced and bang on time.

This is an excellent was to get about. There are many stations in Alicante easiest to find is on the promenade. From here you can travel to Denia, Calpe, Benidorm and places in between for a few euros. Tram cars are clean and run on time.

If you think London underground is congested try Alicante Tram after 1pm returning from Costa Blanca San Juan Beach. Sweltering even though there was air conditioning and packed like a sardine tin.
